Meet Maverick Mora of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maverick Mora

Hi Maverick , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Maverick Mora started out at 17 years old learning about the audio visual industry by helping out his father with some shows and educating himself through the peers, family, and friends. After a couple of years, he followed in his father’s footsteps by shadowing him and finding new ways to excel in the industry, where he gained hands on experience. With that, he set off on his own as a freelancer for a few years, working as an audio engineer on tour for artists, celebrities, and high client companies. At the age of 24, he decided to partner with Luis Rivera to create LRAV, a globally traveled, high end audio visual company.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been challenges along the way, the biggest one being age. In this industry it’s always been the older generation calling the shots, and having myself at a hot seat at such a young age, my credibility is always questioned. Once people see my work ethic, personality, and consistency, They recognize and respect the amount of work I put into each show.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In the audio visual industry, I specialize in audio. My title specifically is audio engineer, which is the person who records, mixes and reproduces sound. They produce music and audio and deal with all aspects of sound in an event, concert or festival. My specialty is in concert and festivals, where I am the “front of house” sound engineer, making sure the audience hears the clearest, and best quality music from the artist. My proudest moments are always seeing the happiness and enjoyment in people’s faces when they listen to a performance. Most people would enjoy meeting celebrities, or the high pay, but for me, it’s knowing I give the best experience to people around me.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I definitely view myself as a risk taker. Having an optimistic mindset helps me view future opportunities as a reason to confidently take risks. Reaching for high valued clients is an example of risk taking I do every day. Showing confidence and explaining to them my past successes and why they should trust me, isn’t easy and for the weak. For me, it’s a risk I’m willing to take because I can see a bright, successful show for both myself and the client.
