Mayleen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Some of the fondest memories I hold are those of the time I spent in the kitchen watching my mother bake desserts for me and my brother.
These memories ignited a passion for baking within me. As an adult, I focused my career in other endeavors but the older I got, the stronger the calling I felt to pursue my passion for baking.
As a result, Sweet Dumply was born. My upbringing, travels, and the people I have met in my life and their cultures have inspired me to bake and offer a variety of cakes and desserts that remind them of home.
It is a pleasure to bake for people and it is a pleasure to bring people a little bit of happiness and joy through our baked goods.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Embarking on this journey has not been smooth sailing. I am a working professional, a mother, and I bake during my free time in between all of my responsibilities.
At times, it can be exhausting but the opportunity to do something I am passionate about makes it all worth it.
We’ve been impressed with Sweet Dumply, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sweet Dumply is a bakery located in Winter Garden, Fl and we specialize in cakes and desserts. We offer more than just your traditional birthday cake; we offer cakes for different occasions and celebrations. Some items from our menu rotate according to seasonality.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories, revolve around my father who passed away when I was 10 years old.
We often spent time together at the beach and those are my fondest memories.
