Meet Megan Moves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Moves.

Hi Megan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In the fall of 2019, I moved to Florida after accepting a job as an engineer at the Kennedy Space Center. I was living alone and wanted to find something to do in my free time to occupy my time. In the spring of 2020, I became an annual pass holder to Disney World and began creating content on YouTube of my trips to the parks!

Throughout the pandemic, I found myself exploring other areas of Florida and sharing travel tips on my YouTube channel. Today I love helping families make the most of their travels by sharing Disney theme park tips as well as other places to visit in the Orlando area!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall I have greatly enjoyed the process and journey I have started. Creating content was a great thing to do during the pandemic and helped to occupy my time! I have grown so much personally as I have found a love for helping others. It has also been a great experience as I have met and become friends with other content creators!

There are day-to-day challenges that I find myself faced with. At times, I am faced with “imposter syndrome,” but when this happens, I think of my supportive audience and the kind comments they share with me as feedback on my videos. I love to see how I am able to help others and it gives me the motivation to continue creating!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At the beginning of 2022, I decided to move full-time into creating video content for the Megan Moves channel on YouTube. On the channel, I share Disney World theme park content. The goal of my videos is to help families make the most of their travels and help them to feel fully prepared for their Disney World visit.

I am most proud of the audience I have been able to attract to the channel. I receive kind comments as feedback on videos and also find that viewers are happy to share their tips as well! Planning a trip to Disney World can be stressful, and as a result, I am proud of how I am able to break down the planning process to help others.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My best advice is to just press record! Get out of your comfort zone and be willing to accept that your first videos will be your worst videos. I have learned so much through posting on YouTube and have decided to get 1% better with each upload. Be willing to learn along the way and commit to the journey! If you are planning on growing a YouTube channel, understand that it is a marathon, not a sprint! The growth you will see over time will add to your motivation.
