Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Gershman.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
A 30+ year love affair with clay has to lead to Gershman Art Pottery!
We create handmade personalized mugs primarily the personalization can include names, phrases, logos, drawings, and much more. We also make customized pottery including Teaware, Matcha Chawan (formal Japanese tea bowls), Yunomi (daily-use Japanese teacups), Guinomi (Japanese sake cups), tea bowls, and other Japanese pottery.
Our functional ceramics include vases, jars, mugs, bowls, cups, platters, and pitchers. Specialty pottery items include candleholders, candle luminaries, and candle warmers. Using different materials and techniques, each piece is a carefully and lovingly crafted one-of-a-kind piece of art.
We provide free shipping directly from our pottery studio in Orlando, Florida and all our glazes are food-safe microwave, and dishwasher friendly. Custom orders are our specialty! You think it, we’ll make it… with clay! I hope you enjoy our pottery pieces as much as I enjoy creating them for you!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It took many years to master, many tests to get the desired results, it was not easy but very rewarding along the way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We make each piece of pottery, with the end-user in mind, and attention to detail, the shape, smooth texture, a nicely trimmed foot, and a comfortable handle are some of the characteristics that stand out.
The inside of each mug gets special treatment as well during the throwing process, you will be amazed at how smooth, clean and beautiful it is. We take quality very seriously.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Have patience!
