Today we’d like to introduce you to Miguel Mouriz.
Miguel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I met my wife on a cruise back in February 2004. It was definitely love at first sight!!! The only problem was that I lived in Spain, and She was literally on the other side of the ocean, in Puerto Rico.
By that time, there was no WhatsApp or Facetime, but at least we had internet and emails. We planned to visit each other, but we couldn’t afford a $1,000 plane ticket every time we wanted to be together. So, we were crazy enough to get married after having a ten months long distance relation.
The destination became Puerto Rico instead of Spain, and the main reason was HOMEOWNERSHIP!!! To buy a house in Spain was extremely difficult, so we decided to become homeowners in PR, which is US Territory and we have the same loans products as USA. I had to go thru all the process of getting his “Green Card” and becoming a US Citizen. I switched my career from show business in Spain to mortgage loan officer in PR and it was the beginning of becoming the most successful loan officer in PR!!!
After ten years living in the island and having two wonderful daughters, we decided to move to USA searching for better opportunities for the whole family. In June 2014, we started all over again in our new hometown in Orlando, FL. From learning the language to understanding the different markets, we were determined to succeed no matter how hard the journey was. We started working together and growing one step at the time. I joined our wonderful NAF in November 2015 and our goal was only one “To grow NAF in Central Florida”.
During the last six years, we were lucky enough to learned from wonderful mentors like Patty Arvielo. If she did it and is Latina, we can do it as well! We started growing and recruiting the NAF Family in Central Florida learning so much from each of our peers, who the majority are immigrants just like us! Together we have created the Family culture that identifies us everywhere.
As you can see, we’ve being blessed to have a new family in a new country. Our NAF Familia gave us all the support to make us stronger, and we are extremely grateful for everything we have accomplished.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not smooth at all. Success roads are never easy to navigate. Growing pains are always part of the next level of growth.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I was born and raised in Madrid; I left my country Spain seventeen years ago. I’ve been blessed with an amazing woman and two beautiful daughters. They inspire me every day to give back, assist, educate, and help provide homeownership for other families.
Over sixteen years in Mortgage Banking, and I’ve discovered my passion is assisting in making dreams come true. I’ve always loved the phrase “The American Dream,” and my job revolves around just that. During this journey, I was able to help thousands of families to become homeowners.
I believe that real estate investment is the stability and drive of our economy.
The vision for my future includes growing our Florida Region, helping families with their first home, investment property, and their retirement homes too. I hope that my guidance allows my client’s futures to be financially secure, planned, and comfortable through Real Estate acquisition or by lowering their interest rate.
I specialize in new construction mortgages, loan products for the self-employed, and guidance on how to become a homeowner. I will help you with a plan, evaluate and advise on credit issues and help you set and reach your homeownership goal.
