Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Jackson.
Mike, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In May 2011, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, after being miraculously healed I wanted to give back to the kids in my community. So I started The Women of Virtue Foundation in honor of several very influential women in my life, starting with my late mother Delores C. Williams Ates.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been smooth especially in the beginning. People are different they don’t support something until something happens to them. But at the same time, I’ve been blessed because once God gives me the vision. I just trust him to see it manifest.
We’ve been impressed with The Women of Virtue Foundation, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Please visit our website at www.womenofvirtue01.wixsite.com/womenofvirtue. We are not in competition with anyone, we are merely here to Make Lives Better for the youth in our community.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To always stand on your word once it’s given.
