Hi Mike, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A few years back, I ventured into the pool and deck installation business with the aim of assisting my son-in-law in starting his own business. However, circumstances changed, and he eventually relocated to another city to pursue a different career. Despite this, I decided to continue with the business as it proved to be quite lucrative.
During Covid years, I met my current business partner Shannon Powell and his team, who have been instrumental in taking our enterprise to new heights. They brought a lot of expertise I didn’t have in branding, a beautiful website, and a new team of employees. Together, we are working to elevate our business to a whole new level of success.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the significant challenges I faced in my business was building a dependable team of workers and expanding the operations to the point where it wasn’t just a one-man show.
As I previously mentioned, I found support from Shannon, my new business partner, Darya Medvedyeva (his wife), who is a marketing specialist, and Frank DeAngelis – our new operations manager.
With their contributions and expertise, we are making significant strides toward achieving our goal of growing the business and creating a reliable team that can help us thrive in the industry.

I was into gymnastics and excelled in math. I loved working on all kinds of machines.
