Today we’d like to introduce you to Mollie Vilsaint.
Hi Mollie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself. How did it start?
I’ve always enjoyed cleaning and organizing. However, for a long time, I never connected the dots that my stress-relieving passion could be a profession. In 2018 my son’s Godmother got on me about how I’m always cleaning and how particular I was about things being organized. She suggested I should open my own cleaning business. Scared to start my own business and entrepreneurship, I ignored her. Embarrassingly enough, it took me a while to get the message, but I thank God that He is patient and wouldn’t stop calling till I answered!
Two years later, I’m helping my work mom move into her new place, and because of how well I did, she too raved about how I should open my own business, and guess what? I did ignore her as well. Fast forward to 2021, I’m at my cousin’s house nagging about how she needs to be organized, and she goes and says no, Mollie, you have a calling in cleaning and organizing. At this point, I realized 3 times was a charm, and I couldn’t run from the call on my life. I started praying for direction on how to start. Less than a month later, a close friend contacted me to let me know her job is looking for a cleaning company. I was stunned at how fast the Lord was moving. I had no commercial experience, no license, and the building was over 32,000 sqft, but I got the contract! Won’t he, do it? I went on to get my license and have been cleaning for them for almost a year. I established my company and opened it to the public on August 1st, 2022.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a smooth road with God by my side giving me strength and courage. I am still learning daily; I have a strong supporting team behind me. They are always helping me and putting me on game.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
So the services I provide I do residential and commercial cleaning, organizing, and moving in/out. Aside from the cleaning company, I work for Truist Bank as a mortgage specialist. I am known for being a sweet, friendly, and loving mother. I am the life of the party when it comes to being around my peers, so good energy is something that I always bring to the table. I am very determined and driven about the ideas I want to bring to life. Whether it is hard or may take a while, I push through, and with that type of personality and mindset, I was able to create my business doing something that I love and is a part of my life. I am proud that I have created a business of cleaning and organizing because that is just something that I love to do. Having a clean and organized space gives you peace, a clear mind space for a good thought process, and room to have no stress. I am a proud mother who works hard for her children to ensure we have the life we deserve as a family. I am not afraid to put certain things aside to ensure that my family is in the right space and doing the right things, which shows my hardworking personality to get any job done.
What sets me apart from everyone else is that I am very optimistic; I am hopeful that good things will happen, and light will fall through in any dark place I may be in. That said, I do not give up; I am always trying and finding different routes to get to the outcome I need to be at. I am humble enough to take whatever comes my way, whether failure or consequences, because I know I can get to a positive endpoint to get the job done. There is always an end, but that does not mean that the future will come with failure every time.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I learned is to push past my comfort zone! To put myself out there and lean into my businesswoman side and no longer allow fear to dictate my future. I now realize a calling can be staring you right in the face but minimizing its value because of how natural it is for you, can cause you to miss it. I encourage everyone to take a pause and really evaluate their strengths and skillsets, as those qualities might just be hints from God on your life calling.
