Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly McCormack. She and her team share their story with us below:
Mammoth Club was founded out of the desire for three best friends to create and share our adventures. MAM comes from our initials, and Club is our way of inviting you to join in our community!
We all met working at Walt Disney World over a decade ago, and while none of us work in the there any longer, our passion for fun, history, and theme parks has never faded.
Molly and Alan are married and live in Orlando, while Max lives in LA. Our friendship grew even stronger during the pandemic as we’d get together for weekly zoom game nights — primarily playing online Clue.
Wanting to get out of a boring Monday – Friday 9-5, Molly found herself working for Disney news blogs almost 5 years ago, making videos and writing for several prominent brands in the field. She developed quite a passion for content creation and last year started chatting with Max and Alan about how to take this passion to the next level.
Last August we officially launched Mammoth Club to an overwhelming amount of support. We hit 100k subscribers on YouTube in just over 30 days and had the opportunity last year to travel to several Harry Potter and other pop culture-themed events around the country. We’re just getting started, and so excited to see what adventures come next.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not always been a smooth road. Of course, there are logistical challenges as we launch new products and ideas. We’re still a very young brand figuring out our audience and content. We’re having a lot of fun trying new concepts and experimenting with new locations.
One of the biggest challenges has simply been our own mental health. For me personally, I’ve struggled a lot with imposter syndrome and feeling that I’m not worth the support we’ve been given. Luckily, the best part of Mammoth Club is the community we’ve started. They’re so overwhelmingly supportive and on the days, I struggle, just a few minutes chatting in Discord with the “MamFam” is a great reminder of why we did this.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are known for video and content creation, notably in the theme park genre. We are known for being very knowledgeable and passionate – not only on current state but history and details. I love the backstory and secrets of these popular places — the things most people overlook.
We are also genuinely best friends who have the best time when we’re together. I think that is palpable — you can’t fake chemistry or friendship. I’ve loved bringing folks along on our adventures and getting to know people in the MamFam.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I think ruthless ambition and desire to succeed and create is important, as well as our core friendship.
