Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Poulin.
Hi Monica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I originally went to school for pharmacy, but after a few semesters I realized I wanted to help people in a more holistic, hands-on way. I packed up my little blue Scion tC and drove to Daytona Beach, where I attended Daytona State College for massage therapy.
Along the way, I participated in the Disney College Program and stayed on afterward working part-time with Disney and part-time at Hand & Stone. Over the years, I committed fully to massage therapy, but I began to feel pulled toward something deeper. While spa environments often focus on upgrades, speed, and numbers, I wanted to focus on outcomes, trust, and truly inclusive, client-centered care. That desire ultimately pushed me to step out on my own..
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any meaningful journey, it hasn’t been without challenges. Just a few weeks ago, I was given notice that my mobile massages were not permitted at a certain central Florida tourism property. That was a tough blow, especially to a company I genuinely love and respect.
But life is about pivoting. Almost immediately after that door closed, this opportunity to share my story opened.
It reminded me that redirections often lead us exactly where we’re meant to go.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I provide in home massage therapy all across the Orlando and neighboring areas. I am known for my ability to provide a relaxing , but effective massage using targeted pressure, stretching, and consistent flow. I am proud of my compassion for learning how to better my practice. I recently learned the art of Lomi Lomi massage, and I absolutely love it-I’m excited for more people to experience how powerful and flowing this modality can be.
My modalities I am trained in
• Deep Tissue
• Prenatal
• Lymphatic Drainage
• Oncology Massage
• Traditional Lomi Lomi
• Sports Massage
• Hot stone
I set my business model up differently than any other typical massage place by making my sessions all-inclusive — no hidden fees, no extra charge for travel. Most different is I do the full hands on time. A 60 minute massage is actually 60 minutes, not the typical 50 minute all spas do. You’ll receive all the soothing extras of a luxury spa experience (aromatherapy, hot stones, heated table, and your preferred pressure) delivered right to you. No traffic. No stress. Just pure relaxation.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Compassion. I am very devoted to my clients results and I give them a moment in this crazy world to truly focus on their wellbeing.
