Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Summers.
Hi Morgan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from Chicago, IL. I moved to Florida when I was around 13 y/o. And even then I’ve always loved photography! My mom bought my first camera around that time and I still have it! I just love being able to document life. Especially the small things. I started helping my friends at iz and liv films during the pandemic and fell in love with the business. Bought my first “professional” camera during the pandemic and the next thing I knew I booked a wedding.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy. And it still isn’t. I lost my Mom three years ago and she was my biggest supporter. When I lost her I felt like I lost my entire support system. So I find it hard to keep pursuing it knowing she wouldn’t be here to see how much I’ve grown. Sometimes the fact that my business isn’t well known yet I do find myself getting discouraged. But! I regardless I try to give 100% to my clients.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in weddings, engagement, and portrait photography, capturing moments as they naturally unfold. I would say my style is very documentary and candid. I believe the best photos are when people feel truly comfortable and in the moment. If you’ve worked with me, you know I’m not a huge fan of posed shots. I try to keep posing to a minimum, focusing instead on creating an environment where authentic expressions and interactions shine through. My goal is to make each session feel like a true reflection of who my clients are, capturing memories that feel genuine and lasting.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t know if I would say luck. But I do believe everything happens for a reason. I feel being prepared and keeping my mind open to different opportunities help me to be successful! In both my personal life and business being ready and putting the effort in rather than hoping things will go my way have helped me be successful. Every step I’ve made so far has taught me something. Learning, adapting, and working hard to bring out the best in my clients and tell their stories. Some may call it luck but I see it as dedication and resilience.
