Hi Mulani, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in the bar industry for a few years now & my roles have varied from bar manager to partner. Eventually I got to a place in life where I wanted to work on my own vision instead of someone else’s. I knew that my previous journeys were apart of a learning process & now it was time to thoroughly execute & bring my vision to fruition.
When I moved to Florida I was inspired by another company EAZY WITH THE DRINKS LLC & told myself that I want to have that effect on people too because I remember the feeling of bringing someone joy & laughter through cocktails.
So I immediately got to work, developed a plan, a brand, a concept, a team & the rest was history.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This time around it has been smoother because I have already experienced a lot of trial and error.
And the biggest part in being a business owner is understanding that it’s not always about critiquing the business, most of the time it’s something you have to tweak within yourself as the owner.
The biggest aspect in business is the mindset of the person running the business because that plays apart in the type of people you bring on & all that energy matters.
Whatever type of energy you bring around your business is the energy it will attract.
If you have a chaotic mind you’ll have a chaotic business! So in order for this ride to be much smoother than the other times I really had to calm my mind & tell myself THIS TIME AROUND YOU HAVE TO DO THIS RIGHT, YOU CANT RUSH, SLOW DOWN, TRUST THE PROCESS & EXECUTE!
You have to be willing to do all the hard stuff just as willingly as you are to the good. Invest more into your business & don’t worry about the profit, because if you invest right the profit will always be on point. And when I say invest I mean invest your TIME, YOUR PATIENCE, YOUR MIND, YOUR ENERGY, YOUR RESPECT it’s not always about the money.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have been an entrepreneur my entire life. I’ve had many businesses (again trial and error phase) from finances to credit to nails & lashes. I have honestly done it all and that’s because NONE of it was a passion, it was just a way to make money.
Now I have found my passion & it’s PEOPLE. It’s about fostering an environment where people can forget about everything that’s on their mind & really relax, smile & enjoy themselves one sip at a time.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that everything in life is a lesson because no matter how far you go, how rich you become, how well known your name is you’ll never stop learning.
