Meet MumTaz Tharoo

Today we’d like to introduce you to MumTaz Tharoo.

Hi MumTaz, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Being brought up in a family where giving back was second nature, I instill the same values in my children as well. My daughter Maya Tharoo was the inspiration behind the Miracle Makers Foundation which she founded with the help of my husband Abdullah Tharoo and me to help premature babies and their families. Maya was born early at 28 weeks weight 1 lb 14 oz and stayed at Arnold Palmer Hospital for 110 days. Every day was a struggle and we are eternally grateful to the team at Arnold Palmer NICU.

We continued to give back to the hospital as a family which eventually transpired into what is Miracle Makers. Maya started volunteering at the age of 6 visiting families in NICU giving them hope and inspiration. At the age of 9, she told us and wrote down how she wanted to help preemies nationally and not just in Orlando and one day globally as well since babies are babies and have no borders.

She did a TEDx talk on youth philanthropy which inspired us all to the startup of Tuesday app, a technology software for registered 501 c3 nonprofits like Miracle Makers to continue doing impactful work and providing them the means of future-forward technology to do donor acquisitions outside their limited reach, increase funding and open whole new donors who are virtually wealthy.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Miracle Makers gives grants to nonprofits like Ronald McDonald House and work directly with the families of preemies.

We continue to identify the challenges faced by families so that 100% of the proceeds of funds raised by Miracle Makers go to the beneficiary.

As you know, we’re big fans of Tuesday. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Tuesday is a software technology for registered 501c3 nonprofits to assist them in fundraising through donation campaigns and auctions. What sets Tuesday apart is the cross-pollinating and democratizing of the donors so nonprofits can reach donors across the USA and are not limited to their own region and donor base which is 95% inactive.

Tuesday was part of the rally social enterprise incubator and through that learned a lot of data facts what we thought was a challenge for Miracle Makers to find donors is indeed a challenge for all nonprofits.

Tuesday also lets nonprofits accept Cryptocurrency donations without any risk as we convert them into local FIAT currency (USD) within minutes.

Tuesday provides instant receipts on behalf of nonprofits. Case studies show that an average American supports 4.5 nonprofits and loves to donate to the cause dear to their hearts and a unique platform like Tuesday lets them do so.

We are excited for our Made in Florida social impact enterprise Tuesday to be helping to make this world a better place by helping registered nonprofits to increase their donor acquisitions by connecting them with donors nationwide. Making its one-stop shop for technology to accept donations on its own website and on the Tuesday community and use the same technology to do auction events as well (with or without a formal event).

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Connecting donors to verified registered nonprofits across the nation.
