Meet Nadia Omi of Orlando_henna_

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Omi

Hi Nadia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
“Henna has always been more than just art to me — it’s been a form of expression, connection, and beauty. My journey began with simple, quiet moments, doodling delicate patterns on my own hands as a way to stay rooted in my culture and creativity.

What started as a personal passion quickly grew into something more. Friends and family began asking me to create designs for their special occasions, trusting me to make their moments even more beautiful. Their encouragement lit a spark in me, and I knew I wanted to share this art form with more people.

Now, I pour my heart into every design, blending tradition with my own unique style to create henna that feels personal and meaningful. Whether it’s for a wedding, celebration, or just because, my goal is to make people feel beautiful and celebrated, one intricate design at a time. And this is just the beginning of my henna journey.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road. Like any creative journey, it’s been full of learning curves and challenges.

One of the biggest struggles has been finding the confidence to put my work out there and turn a personal passion into a real business. The fear of not being “good enough” or not having a unique style that stands out was something I had to overcome.

Balancing time has also been a challenge. Managing my responsibilities at home, especially with kids, while trying to build something meaningful has required patience and persistence. Finding that balance has been an ongoing process, but it’s also taught me resilience and creativity in how I approach my work.

Another challenge has been navigating the business side of things — from promoting my work to figuring out pricing and attracting clients. It’s been a lot of trial and error, but each step has been a learning experience that’s helped me grow.

We’ve been impressed with Orlando_henna_, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
“My henna business is all about turning creativity and culture into something beautiful and personal. I specialize in creating intricate, customized henna designs that blend timeless tradition with my own unique style. From weddings and celebrations to casual, just-because moments, every design I create is meant to make you feel special and beautifully adorned.

What truly sets me apart is my dedication to making each experience personal. I love collaborating with clients to bring their vision to life, crafting designs that feel meaningful and one-of-a-kind. It’s not just about the art itself, but about the joy, connection, and confidence it brings.

Brand-wise, I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built through my art. Each design tells a story, and being trusted to be part of someone’s special moments is something I deeply cherish.

I want people to know that my henna business is more than just beautiful designs — it’s about celebrating creativity, culture, and individuality in the most genuine way possible.”

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has played a mixed role in my journey, both good and bad, but each experience has helped me grow.

Good luck came in the form of encouragement and support from friends and family. Their enthusiasm and trust in my work pushed me to take my passion for henna more seriously. The positive word-of-mouth from happy clients has been a blessing and one of the biggest drivers of my business.

On the other hand, there have been moments where things didn’t go as planned. Whether it was dealing with creative blocks, juggling responsibilities at home, or struggling to attract clients during slow periods, those moments felt like bad luck. But looking back, they were more like lessons in disguise. They taught me resilience, patience, and how to improve my craft and approach.

Ultimately, I’d say luck has played a role, but hard work, consistency, and passion have been just as important. The ups and downs have only made me more determined to keep going and keep growing.
