Meet Najeri Rawlins of Volusia County, Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Najeri Rawlins.

Hi Najeri, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hello! My name is Najeri & I run a blog named “I’ll Name This Blog Later.” Since I can even remember, I’ve always had a passion for music and all the different stories that could be told through the lyrics. The production, and of course, the delivery from the artist from a young age, it was clear to me that no matter the genre, music was ultimately the universal language that could bring people together through the many challenges or obstacles they may face. Although I have always had this passion, it was in 2020 that I realized I wanted to wholeheartedly put myself out there and create a platform that allowed me to not only shine a light on the local artists that I love. But also create a safe and fun space for me to share the music, videos, articles, podcasts, interviews, and lyrics that inspire and resonate with me daily. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to intern at a local music production/event company, record a few on-camera artist interviews, create playlists, and write articles about some of my favorite projects and artists to share with my audience in hopes of inspiring others to tell their stories.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel like I’m still just getting started on this journey, so I’ve had the pleasure of not having to entail too many struggles just yet, but I will say that deciding to kick things into high gear at the beginning of 2020 did land me in a bit of a standstill for some time. Around that time, COVID – 19 had just started to break outbreak out, so many quick changes and adjustments came with that. Because we were all on lockdown and getting acclimated to social distancing, I struggled to find ways to stay inspired and consistently make content while being home. It wasn’t easy, but as the world around us started to pick back up, it was only a matter of time before I found myself wanting to share the things that were inspiring me consistently.

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
I run a hip-hop music blog/website where I like sharing content that inspires me or resonates with me. On my website/blog, I also write articles on some of my favorite artists, albums, and songs. I also create and share playlists + accept playlists submissions for people to share their own. However, I’m just getting started on this journey. What sets me apart from others is my love and passion for the culture. The goal is to create & cultivate a platform where people can authentically share and promote their artistry and opinions free of judgment.
