Meet Nathaniel Williams-Peters of Clermont

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathaniel Williams-Peters

Hi Nathaniel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
For as long as I could remember, I have always loved music. As an artist I have grown to respect any and all types of music, from jazz to underground punk rock to obscure alternative rap. so growing up and pulling from all types of influences really shaped me and my sound. not saying its completely defined, but I would say that its coming together really well. I had been writing lyrics since 5th grade and recording songs since 7th. I originally started out with a Motorola and a turtle beach gaming headset and I was using bandlab on my phone. since then I’ve been working and developing my sound, with production, engineering, and recording.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not, in my youth I struggled with depression and anxiety, along with the need to fit in. I’ve been used, insulted, had my dreams trampled, and so much more on my way to bringing myself up as an artist.creative block and procrastination are my biggest enemies, nothing that anyone can say will hurt me more than not being able to make a song or not having the motivation to get up and actually lock in.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an artist. I create all types of art, mainly music, but I am branching out into audio/video production and other types of media production. I would say I’m known for being a great artist at such a young age. performing in orlando then the audience and host collectively being in shock when I tell them I’m 17. the achievement I’m most proud of in my career so far is performing for my school pep rallies. when I was younger it was a dream of mine to be able to perform for my school one day, and it actually happened. that was such a surreal feeling. What separates me from the rest is simple. I’m moose. you won’t find another person like me. but in all seriousness I think it’s my drive to be great. I want to be someone that they teach about in history classes. I want to change the world. I don’t just want to rap, or sing, I want to make videos, I want to make a podcast. I want to host my own shows, create my own label. I want to make a TV show. maybe stream on the side or make YouTube videos. And I want to do it on my own. I’m hands on with everything and I need complete creative control or I’m not going to get involved.

Any big plans?
I plan on going to college to study business management and entrepreneurship after graduation in May to open my own record label. My original plan was to go for music production but I was advised to have a backup plan for the future if I decided to go a different route. I think that this degree is pretty broad and covers most areas in order to expand beyond music, which is my ultimate goal. I also plan on releasing a mixtape titled “The Come Up” within the next 3 months. I want to promote my music but within unconventional means to stand out and be original as an artist, and not just blend in with the millions of other artists trying to make it.
