Today we’d like to introduce you to Noraliz Nagarsheth
Hi Noraliz, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After earning my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Central Florida in 2013, I embarked on a diverse and fulfilling career in social services. I began my journey as a bilingual (Spanish-Speaking) Outpatient Therapist at a mental health community clinic, where I provided essential support to individuals facing various mental health challenges. Following that, I transitioned into a Case Manager role in a hospital, working in high-pressure environments such as the ICU, Emergency Room, and Mother-Baby/NICU units. This experience was invaluable.
A few years later, I transitioned to elder care as a Home Health Care Social Worker, where I built meaningful connections with the elderly population. Following that, I joined a group practice, leading me to follow my dream of establishing my private practice. This decision offered me greater flexibility and empowered me to create a schedule that balanced my professional responsibilities and personal life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has been challenging. When I first started, I was navigating the physical and emotional challenges of pregnancy while trying to establish a successful practice and secure consistent referrals to sustain the business. When I returned from maternity leave, I faced the challenging task of juggling the demands of caring for a newborn with the responsibilities of running a business. Managing client sessions, staying on top of notes and administrative tasks, and planning for finances, retirement, and long-term stability often felt overwhelming. However, as I gained confidence in my ability to market my practice, I channeled my determination into networking—both online and in person—by attending professional events and connecting with experienced individuals who offered invaluable insights for business owners. Despite the obstacles, a combination of persistence, support, and strategic effort enabled me to lay the groundwork for a thriving practice.
As you know, we’re big fans of Transformative Pathways, PLLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy services to residents of Florida and Texas. I specialize in helping individuals with a history of trauma who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. What sets me apart is my personalized, client-centered approach. I tailor each session to meet each individual’s unique needs and personality, ensuring they feel empowered and supported throughout their journey.
My preferred modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, and I have also received specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful technique I often incorporate to help clients process and heal from deep-rooted trauma.
I am passionate about guiding my clients toward resilience and growth, helping them transform their struggles into strengths. Witnessing individuals take ownership of their lives, apply the tools and coping strategies we explore in therapy, and work toward the life they have always envisioned is genuinely the most rewarding part of my work. My mission is to help clients heal and equip them with the confidence and skills they need to thrive.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up as an introverted child, I cherished my time alone to recharge but also deeply valued connection and community. I had endless energy for playing with friends and engaging with others, always finding joy in those shared moments—though I needed quiet time to reset before diving back in. In high school, I realized that my love for building relationships and fostering community could shape a meaningful career, even though I wasn’t sure exactly how at the time. When I discovered the versatility and impact of social work in college, it became clear that this path would allow me to channel my passion for connecting with people into a profession where I could make a real difference.
