Today we’d like to introduce you to Onni Taillepierre.
Hi Onni, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello! My name is Onni Taillepierre, 32 years old, and I am from the Dominican Republic. Currently, I live in Orlando, FL with my husband and my 6 years old son. We live close to one of the most adventurous and magical areas in Orlando, Disney. Here, I have been able to establish my photography studio along with a lovely home.
Photography has been my passion since I was a young adult studying Advertising at college in the Dominican Republic, it all started as a hobby and then it became something more. Back in my country, I had a great opportunity to work for one of the most prestigious business magazines, Mercado Media Network. Here, I took the first baby steps into a more professional career in photography, and then, I made a big jump and launched my own studio Onni Taillepierre Photography, my first baby! For which I am very grateful to do what I love and make a living off my business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
After running my own studio in the Dominican Republic for 2 years, I got married and then we decided to move to the USA. Shortly after arriving, we got pregnant with my blessed son, Nathan for which I became a full-time mom. This was a big challenge because I had to delay my plans to continue and open my Studio in Orlando as I wanted to. In addition to facing financial difficulties, and limitations with my English skills. English is still a work in progress.
All these challenges and the grace of God helped me to grow and strengthen every area in my life.
