Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Patricia Urena, and I am a licensed massage therapist, the owner of Astradora Massage, and a Latina-owned business.
I have always been interested in health, mental health, and overall wellness for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I learned the importance of care, connection, and resilience, values that were deeply shaped by my Peruvian and Dominican roots. I am very proud of my culture and of my parents, and I carry that pride and intention into everything I do. I struggled with depression, anxiety, and anxiety attacks throughout much of my life, which taught me how important it is to truly take care of yourself and listen to your body when it is stressed or tired.
I attended the University of Central Florida, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology. Eventually, I went on to massage therapy school, where I dove deeper into the world of the mind-body connection. I immediately knew this was something I wanted to make a living from and that I wanted it to be the stepping stone toward owning my own business.
Right after finishing school, I began working on opening a business that felt safe, comforting, and welcoming for everyone, while emphasizing the mind-body connection that we sometimes overlook. Physical and mental health are not separate; they work together. I took my time envisioning what this business would look and feel like, and that is how Astradora Massage was born. I came up with the name Astradora while brainstorming business ideas during college. “Astra,” meaning star, and “Dora,” meaning gift, felt like the perfect combination.
After opening, I began learning more about myself and gaining clarity on what I wanted to offer my community and the Central Florida area. I had always watched ASMR videos when I needed help sleeping or simply wanted to relax. I remember thinking, “There should be massage therapists in Florida who offer ASMR-style massage services like these videos.” When I searched, I couldn’t find any “ASMR massage therapists near me” anywhere in Florida—not on Google, TikTok, or anywhere else. I initially wanted to learn from someone already offering this service, but while there were practitioners in other states, there were very few in Florida. I quickly realized I would have to pave the way on my own for my community. That realization was nerve-wracking, but also incredibly exciting.
After adding this service, I connected with so many wonderful clients, and I have never felt more at peace in my work. Looking ahead, I am excited to dive even deeper into the world of ASMR and continue creating even more magical and relaxing services that truly support my clients wherever they are in their journey. I genuinely enjoy what I do, and I couldn’t be happier.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been working through my self-doubt and self-sabotage. I have struggled with feelings of not being enough and experiencing imposter syndrome at times. Much of this comes from wanting the absolute best for my clients and wanting them to have a meaningful experience. Because of that, I can be very tough on myself.
Over time, I’ve learned to remind myself that I am showing up as my best self and that I am doing everything I can to provide the highest level of care and service possible. Mental health is extremely important to me, and I’ve learned that reaching your goals sometimes requires practicing self-love, patience, and compassion for yourself along the way.

The space I have created was made with so much love. Every little detail is meant to help my clients relax and have a fully immersive experience. My relaxation and ASMR massages are unique because you truly get so much out of the service. All add-ons are complimentary, and each massage is customized.
My ASMR massages are my best seller, and I truly believe that is because of how much you get in one session and the level of care I put into each experience. When you book an ASMR massage, you are able to choose from multiple complimentary add-ons such as cupping, hot stones, aromatherapy, oracle readings, scrubs, or the massage gun. You also get to choose which ASMR tools you would like, as well as the music playing in the background.
Clients choose their preferred level of pressure and which areas they want the massage to focus on, allowing them to get the most out of the experience.
This is what sets me apart, because everything is customized. I do not want my services to feel one-size-fits-all, because that is simply not true. ASMR massages truly allow my clients to deepen their relaxation and get the most out of their massage.
I am proud to be the first ASMR massage therapist in Orlando, and I am proud to offer something that is unique and interesting. I have had so many people reach out and share that they have been waiting for someone to offer this, and I couldn’t be more humbled by those comments. I have always believed that to give is to receive, and being able to help my community de-stress and reset has been the highlight of my career and my life.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
For my astrology and spiritual girlies, the CHANI app has been a total game changer for me. I also love Vanessa Somuayina’s manifestation videos. They are grounding, motivating, and really help me realign when I need it.
For book recommendations, The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk is a great one. It deeply connects mental health, trauma, and the body, which really resonates with the work I do and how I view healing.
