Meet Raditya Narendrasuta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raditya Narendrasuta.

Hi Raditya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Raditya Narendrasuta. I’m originally from Bali, Indonesia, where I was surrounded by amazing sunsets and beaches. I am seeking an Associate of Arts degree here at Seminole state in the hope to transfer to a public university and pursue a degree in film. My hobbies are mostly related to photography and videography. That includes piloting a drone, doing photoshoots and music videos.

My interest in photography and videography started when my dad brought me to his work; fortunately, he was a photographer. I started to do commission work around the age of 15, where I would do music videos and short movies. My passion for both arts grew when I joined a video organization called “Balivigram,” which was a community where people make videos and post them to Instagram. Later on, I joined “Perhimpunan Fotografer Bali,” which is an organization that my dad was the chairman for a certain period of time. In addition, I love to fly my drone and explored the beautiful island of Bali. Therefore, I decided to join another organization called “Bali Drone Community.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t want to complain about the struggles I have faced because other people had worse situations than me. Though, I believe that the gear that I use, in this case, a camera, is like a sword. The more you practice using it, the better you get. In these six years of using the same equipment, I am always excited when I found out about new things that my camera is capable of doing. In a sense, my sword gets sharper and sharper every time I hold it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Recently, I moved to the United States to continue my secondary education. I graduated high school from Forest Lake Academy. Last year, in my senior year of high school, I won a national film festival, “Sonscreen Film Festival” where I and my team won the high school short category with the film called “Becoming Triniti.” Winning the competition made me more confident to pursue a career in the film industry.

During corona season, I decided to open another Instagram page dedicated to photography (@radityavisuals). The reason being is because I want to show pictures that contain emotion and a story. I’ve always been fascinated with fashion photography. Therefore, I use my free time to work and practice my craft in this genre of photography. My goal is to continue what I am currently doing and perfecting my craft while continuing and in the hope to complete my secondary education.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Orlando is quite similar to my hometown island, Bali. The people and community are vibrant. Always love going downtown and explore different locations to shoot. As far as what I like least about Orlando would be the traffic and how complicated I4 is.
