Today we’d like to introduce you to Raul Bravo.
Hi Raul, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our journey began in 2013 when we decided to move from Puerto Rico to Clermont, FL. My wife, who is a Speech Therapist, worked in a private clinic for 8 years. It was always her dream to have her own therapy center which seemed to us as an unattainable goal. In 2017 when my daughter Aurora was born, I was brought to a surprised that she came with an extra chromosome which is known as Down Syndrome. Immediately, we started working really hard and focused on the development of our daughter. Every difficult moment and every milestone we experience with our daughter brought us back to that initiative to create a therapy center for every child and their specific needs. Although knowing that as parents of a child with special needs it would be a very difficult and a long journey, we were committed to give life to Aura’s Therapy Center where children and their parents can find the support, love, guidance, and tools for their journey.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Through my experience, it has not been a smooth road. Some of my struggles include finding the perfect place where every parent and child could feel safe and finding staff that had similar purpose as me of helping every child’s needs and helping them to achieve their goals. The most important struggle I had of all was finding a routine where I could provide time for the responsibilities of the Therapy center but mostly the needs of my child Aurora and son Jerel.
We’ve been impressed with Aura’s Therapy Center, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In my business, we just don’t provided both Speech and Occupational Therapy in English and Spanish but also provide Tongue Tie which is best known as TOTS. In my center, I am responsible of taking care of every parents and patient’s needs on therapy but also in making sure that they are satisfied with our service. What I am most proud of the brand “Aura’s” is that it has such a significant meaning which is the meaning of the energy of one’s surrounding. In this case in our center the “Auras’ we provide to every parent and patient as they walk in is happiness, safety, passion, loved, and valuable, and to this is what apart me from others.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
In my opinion, I did make a major risk in opening this Therapy Center. And the major risk was being surrounded by other Therapy Centers. My perspective in this risk was that I had a purpose and meaning to Aura’s Therapy Center which I didn’t give up and took the risk. Into this risk, I love and enjoyed what I do for every parent and patient.
