Today we’d like to introduce you to Rocio Secco
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My first job was the college program at Walt Disney World resort. My role was Operations and Attractions and i worked in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom Park. It was a very good experience, I learned a lot and I experienced all the Disney park’s behind the scenes.
I have a degree in International relations and i always was interested in tourism and i’m a big fan of theme parks.
I decided to start working in that field and i became part of Viva Orlando travel agency and as a travel agent i sell and guide customers with their travel to Orlando or other destinations. I also have experience in selling Europe vacations.
I enjoy posting content on social media and have a YouTube Channel, this has became my hobby and i like recording and editing vlogs. I´ll like to keep growing as a content creator.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, I´m actually struggling in my professional career, i think i have improved myslef a lot and i went through many challenges but i always try to stay positive and focus on what i want for my career. I think that sometimes the path isn´t easy and it has ups and downs, and that happened to me but i always keep on working and focusing on my goals.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have a degree in Law and International Relations. I´m actually working as a travel agent and sometimes i have other part-time jobs in hospitality, I also like to create content for social media platforms, especially Instagram and Youtube,
When i finished school, i was more into social sciences and never thought about arts and design but after i started university i noticed that i was very shy, so i started with acting classes. At that time i wasn´t thinking about making videos but i started to feel more confident and to improve my skills.
I worked some years for insurance companies and then i wanted to try something different.
I decided to take a makeup artist course and i became interested in beauty. At that time Beauty Youtubers were very populars and i learned a lot watching videos, i bought my first camera and i started to create videos for YouTube.
After some years of working as a Lawyer, i decided to change and after some time i started working in Tourism and as Travel Agent. I was always interested in theme parks, especially Orlando Parks like Walt Disney World Resort and Universal, and i thought that it was a great idea to start assesing clients with their trips to Orlando.
I continue with my YouTube channel and although it´s a small one i´m doing my best to make it grow.
I think what sets me apart from others is my capacity to adapt to different enviroments, sometimes i had situations where i had to adapt to circunstances that i haven´t choose for me and i think that´s partof the life, and when that happens i´m very flexible and try to stay positive and do my best to change what i don´t like.
What matters most to you? Why?
Sometimes i overthink about the next steps in my career and the things that i want to change. It matters to me because i would like to grow professionally and although i´m working on it, i have some uncertainy about. But on the other side, i think what is most important in life is to work for our goals, to be healthy and love. I think that sometimes we expect succesful results but they can be as expected or not and we have to deal with that as a part of the process but is i think is important to always try what we want to do and have confidence in ourselves.
