Today we’d like to introduce you to Roshni Pecora.
Hi Roshni, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I went to Disney with a friend in January of 2019 on a very spontaneous trip. I had been going to Disney for years. She had never been before so I planned our 1 day we had at Disney and realized how much I love to plan and loved how much fun she had that day.
The joy I saw in her inspired me. I had been searching for a new path and it just hit me that I should start a Disney planning career and build it up. I reached out to a friend that owns the travel agency I am working for now and got started and now here I am.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been at times smooth but also winding and bumpy. Obviously, the pandemic has made this work very challenging at times. With many cancellations or rebooking come struggles.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a travel professional that specializes in all things Disney, and Universal. I am also an adjunct ballet instructor at Dean College and local dance programs. My ballet training has helped my travel planning career in so many ways.
As a travel professional, I think I am known for being very organized, listening to my clients, and talking through what they really want without pushing opinions on them. I am most proud of the relationships I have with my clients and how they trust me to help make their vacations a dream come true.
I believe in giving each client personal attention and have even been seen giving clients rides to the airport or special pre-trip goody bags for their vacations.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Believe in yourself and always remember why you started. Find every tool you can to help you. Whether it is books or magazines you can read, video tutorials, or talking with other professionals. Take it all in.
Use what you can and then personalize it to how you want your business to run. I wish I had believed in myself and started this journey sooner.
