Meet Sarah Tucker of Clermont

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Tucker.

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

Before opening Prime IV Clermont, I spent over 27 years as a nurse in critical care—10 years in the Pediatric Intensive Care Department/Neonatal Intensive Care Department and 17 years in the Emergency Department. I loved the fast pace but felt frustrated watching patients come in after years of neglecting their health. Too often, the ER is a last stop for people in crisis mode—when they needed a wake-up call a decade earlier.
I also saw how corporate hospital systems were cutting staff and adding responsibilities to nurses, making it nearly impossible to deliver the level of care patients deserve. After years of advocating for safe staffing as a charge nurse and seeing little change, I began looking outside the hospital for ways to truly help people—and discovered Prime IV.
Now, I can take the time to understand each client’s health history and wellness goals, offer personalized recommendations, and witness real improvements in their health. All our nurses at Prime IV Clermont have critical care backgrounds, and we conduct vital signs before each treatment. That medical training allows us to spot early warning signs and refer clients back to their physicians when needed. It’s incredibly rewarding to help people optimize their health before problems escalate.

We’re thrilled to have celebrated our 1-year anniversary in August 2025!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, there have been struggles—nursing is full of them. As a charge nurse in a busy ER, I juggled patient care, medication administration, continuous monitoring, and coordinating with physicians under intense pressure. In comparison, launching a business has had its challenges—but I can honestly say it feels easier than managing an ER shift.

One unexpected hurdle we faced was launching an IV hydration business during a national IV fluid shortage. Hurricane Milton caused major flooding in North Carolina, destroying the Braun factory, which was a primary supplier of IV fluids across the U.S. Starting a business that depends on IV supplies in the middle of that shortage? Definitely a test of patience and creativity.

Beyond supply issues, we deal with more typical challenges like educating new clients about the benefits of IV therapy, especially newer treatments like NAD+ infusions, vitamin blends, and wellness protocols. But we love what we do—and seeing clients thrive makes it all worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Prime IV Hydration & Wellness in Clermont, we specialize in customized IV drip therapy designed to enhance hydration, replenish nutrients, and support overall health and well-being. Our wide variety of infusions address specific needs such as energy boosts, immune support, anti-aging, athletic recovery, and hangover relief. Each drip contains a powerful blend of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and electrolytes delivered directly into the bloodstream for 100% absorption—bypassing the digestive system entirely.
We take the IV experience to the next level with what we like to call a “one-hour vacation.” While receiving treatment, clients relax in our full-body, zero-gravity massage chairs, complete with cozy blankets, pillows, and eye masks. We’ve created a calm, spa-like atmosphere so inviting that some clients schedule nap time in our VIP rooms!

What makes your company different?
1-Nurse-Owned and Safety-First: Prime IV Clermont is nurse-owned, which means safety and proper protocols are always our top priorities. I understand firsthand what can go wrong when shortcuts are taken. I chose to partner with Prime IV because founder Amy Neary shares the same commitment to excellence—her selectivity and attention to detail have helped Prime IV earn top industry honors, including Entrepreneur Magazine’s #1 ranking in IV Therapy on the Franchise 500 list.

2-Elevated Client Experience: We go above and beyond for our clients. After their IV is placed, we literally tuck them into the massage chair and create a peaceful space for them to truly relax—or nap! We treat each visit like a mini wellness retreat.

3-Pepper, Our Spa Dog: Pepper is our full-time spa greeter! She provides comfort and calm to clients, especially those with needle anxiety. She’s a beloved part of our team and brings smiles daily.

We love that we still get to use our nursing expertise to help people, but in a more proactive and personal way. We monitor vitals, assess overall wellness, and help clients feel their best. The goal isn’t just to live longer—but to enjoy life longer. Seeing our clients meet their wellness and weight loss goals, or simply feel better day-to-day, is incredibly fulfilling.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Advice for anyone starting a new business?
Be prepared to get uncomfortable—in a good way. Transitioning from nursing to business ownership has been both exciting and humbling. One of the biggest challenges for me was moving into a role that includes sales, something that felt completely outside my comfort zone. As a nurse, my job was to care for people, not sell them something.

But I quickly realized: it’s not about selling—it’s about educating. I don’t consider myself a salesperson, and I never try to “push” anything. Instead, I focus on helping clients understand the real benefits of IV therapy and wellness treatments, using the clinical knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years. When people are informed, they feel empowered to make the right decisions for their health.

If you’re starting a business—especially one in wellness—lead with your passion, be honest about what you don’t know yet, and surround yourself with a strong support system. There’s a big learning curve, but if your heart’s in it and you’re willing to grow, it’s worth every challenge.

Starting a business is incredibly rewarding, but it’s not always glamorous—and it’s definitely not easy. I wish I had known how much time would be spent working on the business, not just in it. You go in thinking you’ll focus on your passion (for me, that’s wellness and patient care), but you quickly realize you’re also managing marketing, inventory, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and constantly educating new clients.

I’m at the spa almost every single day—not because I have to be, but because I genuinely love it. I enjoy connecting with new clients and being hands-on in the experience we provide. And even when I’m not physically there, I’m still connected. Thanks to mobile apps, I stay in constant contact with clients who message Prime IV—I’m always just a text away.

What I’ve learned is that business ownership takes full-time commitment, flexibility, and heart. But if you’re passionate about what you do, that hard work becomes something you actually look forward to.
