Hi Shannon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As a lifelong fan of the Orlando area theme parks, I have always loved sharing the magic of these attractions with my daughter and son during our family trips from Connecticut. However, when the kids turned five and six, we made the decision to leave the stroller behind—a choice I quickly regretted. It became clear that they needed a shady spot to recharge when they got tired.

We decided to rent a stroller inside the parks, which worked well until it was time to head back to our hotel. We had to leave the stroller behind at, and my husband, Justin, ended up carrying our five-year-old back while our six-year-old lagged behind, dragging his feet. This scenario played out for the next three days of our vacation, and I knew there had to be a better solution.

So, in 2008, I left my long career in elementary education to start Orlando Stroller Rentals, the first and only stroller rental company at the time. I wanted to give parents a simple and convenient way to enjoy the parks and the entire Orlando experience with their children. My goal was to ensure that every family had access to clean, safe strollers at all times—not just inside the theme parks. As my business has grown, my dedication to vacationing parents has remained at the heart of everything I do. I personally oversee the meticulous cleaning process that each stroller goes through, making sure that, as a mom and a former teacher, I would feel comfortable putting my own children in any stroller rented from Orlando Stroller Rentals.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. While starting Orlando Stroller Rentals has been incredibly rewarding, I faced several challenges along the way. One of the biggest struggles was establishing a reliable supply of quality strollers that met my standards for cleanliness and safety.

Logistics were another hurdle. Coordinating deliveries and pickups in a bustling tourist area like Orlando required a lot of planning and organization. There were times when I had to manage everything on my own, which was overwhelming.

Additionally, building brand awareness and attracting customers in a competitive market took time and effort. I had to find effective ways to reach parents who might not have even considered renting a stroller.

Despite these challenges, each obstacle taught me valuable lessons and strengthened my resolve. I’ve learned to adapt and innovate, and my passion for helping families enjoy their vacations keeps me motivated.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One surprising thing that many people might not know about me or Orlando Stroller Rentals is how deeply involved my entire family is in the business. While they see us as a rental service, they may not realize we are a true family-run business. My husband serves as the Vice President, helping to manage daily operations, and our son and daughter actively contribute as well. Even during their college years, Austin takes charge of our social media, while Kelsey assists with operations. This level of family involvement adds a personal touch to our service and reflects our commitment to helping other families create memorable experiences in Orlando. We’re not just a business; we’re a family dedicated to supporting other families!
