Meet Simone Cerasa of Lake Nona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Cerasa.

Hi Simone, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey actually started thousands of feet in the air. I spent nearly two decades in the airline industry, flying all over the world and experiencing every side of travel you can imagine. But the most valuable part of those twenty years wasn’t the miles I logged, it was the time I spent listening to passengers. I heard firsthand what they loved about their trips and, more importantly, what they absolutely hated. I saw exactly where the travel experience tended to fall apart, which was usually the moment they stepped off the plane and had to figure out how to get their family to their final destination.

I saw families arrive in Orlando for their dream theme park vacation or a long-awaited cruise out of Port Canaveral, and I could see the stress hitting them immediately. They were worried about whether their ride would show up, if there would be enough room for all their bags, or if the car would be safe for their kids. I decided to take everything I learned from those conversations and use it to shape a business that fixed those problems.

That is how The Genie Transportation Services began. I wanted to create a service that felt like a “wish granted” for parents. I took the high standards of the aviation world where punctuality and safety are everything and brought them down to earth. In the beginning, it was just about proving that ground transportation could be a high-quality, hospitality-focused experience. I wanted to be the person who took the logistics off a parent’s plate so they could actually start enjoying their vacation the moment they landed.

We got to where we are today by staying obsessed with those small details that I heard passengers complaining about for years. We’ve focused our energy on being the most reliable bridge between the airport, the theme parks, and the cruise terminals. When parents book with us, they aren’t just getting a car. They are getting twenty years of travel expertise and a team that understands how important every minute of a family vacation truly is. We’ve grown because we treat every trip like the most important flight of the day, making sure our guests feel taken care of from the moment they meet us until we drop them off at the cruise terminal or hotel lobby.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but most of the bumps have been behind the scenes in the form of red tape and industry standards. Coming from the airlines, I’m used to a world where safety and regulation are the gold standard, but navigating that on the ground in Florida is a massive undertaking. The reality of running a legitimate transportation business involves extremely high costs for commercial insurance and a lot of patience for the long wait times required to get the proper permits and licenses from the city and the airport.

What’s even more challenging than the paperwork is seeing how many people and companies out there choose to ignore those rules. It’s frustrating to see operators cutting corners or running without the proper credentials just to make a few extra bucks. To the average family looking for a deal online, a car might just look like a car, but without that proper insurance and oversight, they are being put in harm’s way without even knowing it.

I’ve had moments where it was tempting to be discouraged by the “underground” competition, but my experience in the sky taught me that there is no substitute for safety. I’ve stayed committed to doing things the right way, even when it’s the more expensive or slower path. I want my guests to have total peace of mind when they buckle their kids into one of our vehicles.

Knowing that we are fully vetted, properly insured, and 100% compliant with every local regulation is a huge part of the “Genie” promise. We chose to take the hard road because at the end of the day, we aren’t just moving passengers; we are moving families. The peace of mind we provide to a parent heading to a theme park or the port is worth every bit of the effort it took to get our permits and licenses the right way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the core of it, I run a boutique transportation service that bridges the gap between the airport, our world-famous theme parks, and the cruise terminals at Port Canaveral. We specialize in those high-stakes family transfers where timing and reliability are everything. When a family is trying to coordinate multiple suitcases, car seats, and a strict boarding time for a ship, they don’t just need a driver; they need a logistics partner. That is exactly what we provide.

I think we are best known for our Genie approach to service, which is rooted in those twenty years I spent in the airline industry. What really sets us apart is our refusal to compromise on the invisible things. While some operators cut corners on insurance or licensing to save money, we have gone in the opposite direction by leaning into the highest standards of safety and professional ethics.

Even though I have only been running this company for about four years, that commitment to doing things the right way has already been recognized by my peers in the industry. I am incredibly honored to have been elected to represent Central Florida as a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Limousine Association. To be chosen by other professionals in this field to help lead our industry is something I am deeply proud of. It validates the hard work we put into maintaining a legitimate, safe, and premium service for the families who trust us.

I am most proud of the trust we’ve built with parents. There is a specific kind of relief I see on a parent’s face when they see us waiting for them at the pickup area at MCO or outside the hotel lobby. They know the hardest part of the travel day is over and they can finally relax. Knowing that we play a small but vital role in making a child’s first trip to Disney or a family’s first cruise seamless is what keeps me going. We aren’t just a car service; we are the guardians of the vacation experience, and we have the professional credentials to back that up.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If I had to pick one thing that’s been the secret to our success, it’s the habit of staying two steps ahead of the stress. Twenty years in the airline industry taught me that travel rarely goes perfectly to plan, and I’ve carried that lesson over to the ground. I’ve learned that for a family on vacation, I’m not just driving a car—I’m the person responsible for making sure their trip doesn’t hit a snag the moment they land.

I think success in this business comes down to understanding the “little things” that parents are actually worried about. After a long flight with kids, the last thing a parent wants to do is wonder if the car seats are actually in the vehicle or if there’s enough trunk space for all the suitcases they had to pack. I try to anticipate those worries before they even have a chance to become a problem. Whether it’s watching for a flight delay or knowing exactly which route will beat the I-4 traffic to get them to their cruise on time, I want them to feel like everything is already handled.

I also think being honest and doing things the right way has made a huge difference. It’s no secret that there are plenty of people out there cutting corners and ignoring the rules, but I’ve always believed that you can’t put a price on a family’s safety. I’ve stayed committed to every permit, every license, and every insurance requirement because that’s what my customers deserve.

That commitment to doing right by the industry is actually why I’m so honored to serve on the Board of Directors for the Florida Limousine Association. It’s given me a chance to stand up for those higher standards and make sure we’re protecting the families who visit our city. At the end of the day, I’m just a guy who loves Orlando and wants to make sure that when people visit, their biggest worry is which ride to go on first, not how they’re going to get to the hotel.
