Spivey Spa started during the shutdown in Central Florida of 2020. Previously under a different name and business model, the owner switched gears in preparation for growth.
Being a high touch/contact industry, it was a risk to transition and prepare for growth at such a time, but we banked on the human need for stress relief and the masses reaffirmed awareness of the importantance of our overall health.
We are glad we did.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth is an interesting word. We had a decent following and customer base initially. Thankfully, as soon as we were able to open our doors people were ready to support small, black-owned, women-owned businesses and what was most important, small spas.
With all of those factors, we have grown at a good rate. New businesses are (or should be) constantly learning and growing and I certainly believe we have been doing that.
