Meet Statia Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Statia Jones.

Hi Statia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It started in 2010 with a point-and-shoot camera when I was a sophomore in college. From mini photoshoots to events, I brought it everywhere to capture my collegiate memories. That year I came to realize two things: 1. I loved capturing the moment and 2. bringing out the best in someone through photography. My passion blossomed and it was the beginning of a love story if you will. In 2011, I started to take photography seriously and my brother gifted me my first DSLR camera. I felt so professional and I ready to hit the ground running. Fast forward, I am now a business owner serving my clients for their personal and business needs. I strive to provide exceptional service and quality photographs to create a lasting impression. #MomentsEndMemoriesLast

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to success is not smooth but there are lessons in the obstacles. One of the roadblocks that I have faced was business planning. I never ran my own business prior to this, so at first it felt overwhelming. There was so much preparation, planning and learning that I had to do to get business off the ground. Even now I have to constantly learn, reinvent, stay creative and be consistent to thrive in this industry. The main takeaway that I have learned in this process is to standardize before I optimize. Waiting for things to be perfect will have me waiting forever.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer who specializes in branding, lifestyle and traditional portraits. I love capturing genuine expressions and the moment. I am most proud of my determination and commitment to continue growing this business. I have stumbled along the way, made many mistakes, and even quit, but I am still here. The one thing that sets me apart from others comes down to who I am as a person. I value the relationships that I have with my clients. I love learning about them and truly appreciate the opportunity to provide them a service that makes them feel beautiful and/or grow their brand. My business is bigger than me, so the fact that I am able to contribute to my client’s happiness and success makes it all worth the while.

Any big plans?
I am working on some new endeavors to rebrand and expand my services. I will be offering more benefits, coaching and education. I am looking forward to reaching new people that would benefit from my services. I am in the business of helping businesses and people so I can’t wait to share what is coming up.
