Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I started this back in March of 2018 with the help of my father and one of his friends who wanted to join the industry. They both worked full-time jobs and had other areas to focus on, so I was thrown into researching the transportation industry and what it was all about. After setting everything up to open the company, I quit my full-time job and pursued One Call Logistics full-time in May of 2018. I had yet to learn what I was in store for, nor did I know what it took to run a company. 6 months in, I was ready to give up and had to get a night shift position to make ends meet. A month into working the night shift and still trying to operate the business, a light bulb clicked, and I decided it was time to go all in. I left that job, and the following week, things changed tremendously. I started booking client transport services, utilizing social media, and putting in the work needed to establish a new business. Fast forward to today. We have 15 full-time employees, a team in Guatemala, and one big family. We have done over 10 million in revenue 2 years in a row and are looking forward to growing even more.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Its definitely been a bumpy road but what business doesn’t have hiccups along the way? Some of the challenges we face are below:
- Learning how to manage a growing sales team and organization overall.
- Finding the right trustworthy owner operators to help fulfill our clients needs.
- Establishing our brand and really getting our name out there. Continuously growing our name.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I am a strong believer in taking risks. You have to take risks to grow and get out of your comfort zone. I feel like as a business owner, you always have to take risks.. Whether it be spending 10k on an huge marketing campaign and hoping it gets out there, or hiring a few sales individuals on salary and hoping they hit their targets to generate income. Take the risk!
