Meet Tessa Baker of Haines City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tessa Baker

Tessa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a foster child, I was placed into Job Corps for brick masonry in 1995. Having received an associates in accounting, I took on many office, management, coordinating, supervisory roles over the years. In August of 2010, I started in the office of a koi pond company. Nine years later, I started my own pond company. It’s hard, wet, and disgusting work, yet it is the most amazing and rewarding work. To see customers enjoy their backyards and bring back the tranquility and serenity to their ponds and life. I get more excited for the fish and life in the pond than anything. I could just watch the water all day. Fountains are my favorite, to take busted, rusted, broken fountains to look and operate as new is really relaxing and rewarding.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a single mother is challenging, not having parents or say a support system was really hard. Financial obstacles were always a problem.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Finding a complimentary color scheme to match their homes and taste is an art.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I am very humble and I believe I have the lowest cost because I care so much. I take on clients no one else wants to help because of their budget. It bites me in the rump sometimes, but I just enjoy it.
