Hi, Toni-Ann; we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It took a leap of faith for me to become a skincare business owner.
TME Cosmetics, once Suppleskyn and Skin Supple was just a small thought back in 2019.
Growing up, I struggled with acne to the face, chest and back. After visiting several dermatologists, I was prescribed several medications which would either irritate or burn my skin. At times, the pimples would vanish leaving behind hyperpigmentation. As I grew older, I was becoming more self conscious and concerned about my skin imperfections. I then started exploring the various gifts of Mother Nature. My mother was able to source several raw ingredients in Jamaica such as Raw African Black Soap, unrefined African Shea Butter amongst other herbal teas. After all, the best way to care for the skin is inside out. With time and consistency, I started gaining back my confidence as my skin was regenerated.
Several years later, I was hooked on creating a facial and body scrub line that works for everyone. This line consisted of 3 face scrubs, 3 body scrubs and 3 lip scrubs, all made from 100% organic, skin safe, sulfate and paraben free ingredients. After several months of failed formulas, errors, soiled labels and money loss I discovered a winning formula. These products were made available on a website and were available for local pickups. Shortly after, customers started requesting all natural unscented body butters that are light on the skin but add enough moisture. Gradually other products were added including cosmetics and makeup products.
In 2022, I decided that a revamp was necessary to remain relevant and capture new audiences. This revamp included adjusting the color scheme of the brand, an updated logo, a new product lineup, expanding the scent lineup and switching to a more efficient website host. This revamp awarded TME Cosmetics LLC with its first ever 6 figure year.
As the company continued to succeed, customers started requesting wholesale, bulk product and private labels to many small businesses that were established after the pandemic in 2020. TME Wholesale was birthed supplying hundreds of businesses with 100% organic skincare products to date. Additionally, empowering skincare professionals to create profitable skincare lines .
Currently, TME Cosmetics and Wholesale offers various feminine body products, body creams, body lotions, body oils, body scrubs amongst other products that help relieve eczema, hyperpigmentation, stretch mark skin, psoriasis, rosacea and improve the overall appearance of the skin. Additionally, offering local Orlando pick up and priority skipping while providing the best customer service.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A few challenges are always welcomed when success is to come. One challenge we initially encountered was ensuring the products could maintain their integrity in hot and cold temperatures. Secondly, we discovered a few discrepancies with the warehouse in which we were located, forcing us to relocate. When a company grows with supply and demand, more space is prevalent. We were able to relocate quickly and resume business as usual. Thirdly, in 2022, a handful of customers would receive their products and file chargebacks stating they did not receive their order. Since then, we have implemented security measures and route protection to help mitigate this issue.

My name is Toni-Ann Eccles. I am the CEO of TME Cosmetics LLC and TME Wholesale. I am the embodiment of grit and determination who pushes boundaries even in the face of adversity. My roles include but are not limited to building and developing the company, creating graphics, directing photoshoots, crafting skincare products, customer, and vendor relationships, monitoring business performance, assisting with social media presence, and any day-to-day activities. Additionally, I have worked in social service for 7 years, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. I am pursuing a Masters in Business Administration Degree to better assist with growing TME Cosmetics. What sets me apart from others is that I value customer service. The company has helped retain customers by recognizing returning customers, offering frequent deals and discounts, building customer relationships, prompt response to inquiries, and providing a speedy resolution to issues.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
In this social media world, several people are offering mentorship programs. It is essential to understand that finding a good mentor is an investment in your business. Because of this, one must ensure they know the information that will be taught throughout the mentorship and the duration, inquire if reading materials will be provided, and, most importantly, ensure the mentor is knowledgeable about the information being taught. I have had a challenging experience working with mentors. I recommend doing your research.
