Meet Trinity Benton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinity Benton.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
As a child, I participated in many forms of artistry. I did ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary dance, modern dance, African dance, band, art, origami, sewing, etc. From there, I began diving deeper into my interest in the arts through middle and high school. During these times, life got pretty rough. I faced adversities such as bullying, abuse, a toxic household, homelessness, etc. Through these dark times, the only common denominator to pull me out of it was my passion for art. Finally, in my senior year of high school, I was split between being a nurse and following my heart. It was very hard, and art was the only thing helping me through my decision. I was then kicked out of my home, and art was there for me again. Only then did I see exactly what my soul felt called to do. I applied to Full sail university to pursue my recording arts bachelor’s degree. Following my heart, I found many networking connections to make my other dreams come true in modeling, acting, singing, poetry, and painting. I am now working for myself as an independent artist, actively building my brand.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been very hard not being supported by my family. It has also been hard to keep a stable income as well. However, looking inside at who I truly am and what makes me feel whole has made this difficult decision so blissful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist who paints, draws, sings, and raps poetry. I model and am also a businesswoman. I am a fierce woman and a warrior. I aim to inspire the many people of this world with hope for their future. I am set apart from others because my adversities don’t tear me down; they build me up to be stronger and push through for the people like me who went through a tough upbringing and want to pursue art.

Do you have any advice for those just starting?
When I started, I wished I knew to be financially mature. I wish I were smarter with how I spent my money so it would go towards my art and create endeavors. Although art may be an “unconventional” way of success, it is costly. I wish I knew to make my schedule around my art and to put it first by all means. I also hope that I know how unique and broad art can be. There is no right or wrong way because of the many different forms of expression. Art is to express yourself freely as you are. Compare your art to none other than your very own.
