Meet Veronica Irizarry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Irizarry.

Hi Veronica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a thrifter, out of necessity but quickly turned into the love of the hunt. In high school, you could always find me in the “bins” as they call them digging through clothes to find unique pieces to add to my collection. I was always intrigued with the different tags and prints that would make one of a kind outfits. I ended up starting a vintage denim company called Wild x Bones where I bleached and studded denim with my cousin, Alex Lopez. I then became obsessed with vintage chairs in college, reupholstering unique chairs to sell to others. Fast forward to current day where my love for furniture has grown into EN!GMA. Curating unique home decor and furniture and being able to share these finds with the Orlando community has been the best part of starting my business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every day is a battle trying to decide if people will see decor the way you envision it. It’s always a little risky to purchase larger pieces but at the end of the day it all works out.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Curating unique furniture and decor is our main focus. We also offer event rentals to bring the extra pizazz to special events in peoples lives. I am most proud of being able to share and grow with the Orlando community. It has been so amazing to interact with people who are genuinely supportive of what I have to offer.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Orlando is so diverse and full of amazing talents! It is so awesome to see how we are growing to showcase the other non tourist offering that we have.
