Meet Wennevill Sangiovanni of Wennevill Designs & Staging

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wennevill Sangiovanni.

Hi Wennevill, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Wennevill, but everyone calls me Wendy. I’ve had an eye for design since the tender age of 7. Growing up my moms friends and family would borrow me to help decorate their homes and birthday parties. I worked in corporate after becoming a teenage mom at the age of 17 and later obtained my degree as a paralegal because I wanted to be the next Erin Brockovich, lol.

I soon learned working in an office was not the right fit for me. After leaving the firm I struggled to find my purpose. I’ve always been told by friends, colleagues, and family that I should pursue my design talent and put it to work. I often decorated homes for friends and family for fun, but I have always been my worse critic and didn’t think I was good enough to make it a career. It was one night I was praying for guidance and not even half an hour later I got a call from a church friend. She asked me what I was doing for work, and I told her I was trying to pursue my dream of being a designer but didn’t know where to start.

She said she had just seen someone on Facebook looking for a Christian designer to do her home. I answered, I’m a Christian and a designer, but I have no work experience and my home is my only portfolio. She set up a meeting with the individual in my home the next day. The client fell in love with the way I decorated and hired me to complete her whole house. I completed a total of 10 rooms in her home. It was then that my career started and I began to do professional staging, organizing, decorating and design. For the past 6 years, I have self-taught myself.

I have taken online classes, researched materials, furniture, and decor, attended seminars, and worked for a local designer to learn all the ropes. I have since been hired to do homes and businesses in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, California, Florida, and the Dominican Republic, I’ve had the honor of speaking at seminars regarding the Importance of staging a home for sale and recently invited to collaborate on a Real Estate based book to feature a section on staging.

I run a faith-based business and pray upon every home I enter. I build relationships with my clients, many become “friends”. I believe God has a purpose for me in every home he sends me to. I’ve been told by many clients that I have done more than just decorate their house, I have helped make their house a “Home”.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My job is difficult. Every client and every home is different. Everyone is unique in their own creative taste for their home or commercial space. I have to respect everyone’s design ideas and expectations and sometimes work with unique pieces they own to design the space. I create a vision board for my clients, but in the end, it’s their home or commercial property and they have the last say. I can only give my ideas and my directions and hope the client loves my design ideas for the space.

No matter the budget or the size of the space I never turn a client away. I treat all my clients with the same amount of effort and respect. I am passionate about my career, I strive to make everyone happy in their space.

We’ve been impressed with Wennevill Designs & Staging LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in residential and commercial properties. I have assisted in the design to build a home from the ground up. I have helped flip properties, rehabs and assisted in the design and decor for commercial properties. I have experience in staging homes for sale. I also do professional home/office organizing, decluttering, and packing.

Many people think that working with an interior designer is expensive. It doesn’t have to be. I will work with you to determine a budget that accomplishes your goals. Whether is one room at a time or your entire home or business. I make the experience of interior design and decorating easy and fun. What sets me apart is my attention to detail to your needs & your goals for your home or business.

I will work with you to find furniture pieces & decor that best represent your style and needs without breaking the bank.  I am most proud of being a FAITH based business. I take pleasure in walking away from a finished job knowing I put all my dedication, time, and effort into completing your goals and leaving you completely satisfied. Referrals are the best compliments!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Research, research, research. Designs and materials are changing every day. Keep yourself educated on what’s new and trending, but also don’t be afraid to be different and have your own style.

People are afraid to step out there comfort zone, but if you present them with something new and unique, you will be surprised with the feedback you get.
