Meet Yezenia Valle of Nona Women’s Wellness & Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yezenia Valle.

Hi Yezenia , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been a licensed mental health therapist for the past 15 years. I’m a Cuban American, born in New Jersey, and moved to Florida with my family during high school. I attended the University of Central Florida, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology. Orlando quickly became home, it’s where I built my career, met my partner, and started our family.

For the past decade, I’ve balanced raising our three children while working as a licensed therapist in corporate settings. Over the last year, I felt a growing desire for independence and to create something that reflected my own vision.

When I was unexpectedly laid off in June, it became the push I needed to finally launch my private practice. What initially felt like a setback turned into a moment of clarity and courage.

As a Latina woman, I deeply understand the generational and cultural patterns that shape our experiences. As well as the expectations, the resilience, and sometimes the silence we carry. That understanding drives my passion for helping women who share similar stories.

As a women’s mental health therapist, my purpose goes beyond providing therapy; it’s about creating a safe, empowering space where women can explore their emotions, understand their patterns, and reclaim their voices.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been easy, and I’ve faced many challenges along the way. When my youngest daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate during the COVID pandemic, it deeply tested my resilience and faith in myself. Transitioning from corporate America to becoming a business owner has also required me to step far outside my comfort zone and unlearn long-held habits to embrace new ways of thinking and leading.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business, Nona Women’s Wellness and Therapy is a private practice dedicated to supporting women through all stages of life — emotionally, mentally, and holistically. My mission is to create a safe, compassionate space where women can heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves while feeling part of a larger community of support.

I specialize in helping women navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, motherhood, anxiety, and burnout. What sets us apart is our integrative approach — blending evidence-based therapy with mindfulness, emotional education, and community-centered care. At Nona, I believe that wellness isn’t just about healing in isolation — it’s about belonging. I’m passionate about fostering connection and empowerment so that every woman who walks through our doors feels seen, heard, and supported.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of cultivating a practice that feels warm, authentic, and real. My vision is to remind women that caring for themselves is not a luxury, it’s essential. Through therapy and outreach, Nona Women’s Wellness and Therapy continues to grow as a space where women can find both healing and community.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice is to give yourself permission to grow through the uncertainty. Starting something new, whether it’s a business, a career shift, or a personal transformation, will challenge you in ways you don’t expect. But every challenge is also an invitation to trust yourself more deeply and continue to learn.

Most importantly, give yourself grace. You’ll make mistakes, you’ll second-guess yourself, and that’s okay. Growth happens in when you have no idea what you’re doing, but believing in yourself and giving yourself grace is so important.
