Today we’d like to introduce you to Zole Artin.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Zole Artin, a Venezuelan immigrant with Arab roots, founder of Artin Sweet and creator of Artin School. I came to the United States with the dream of building a better future for my family. My pastry journey began with artistic cake decorating, but I soon discovered a passion that truly reflected my personality and resonated with my clients’ taste—creating New York–style cookies: large, indulgent, and beloved in American culture.
When defining my brand, I wanted to honor my roots—that’s how Artin Sweet was born. Artin is my father’s last name and it also reads as Art In Sweet—the art within sweetness—capturing how I approach every recipe. With that identity, my cultural heritage inspired me to develop Dubai Cookies, now the signature of the brand. I also specialized in macarons, a technical challenge that strengthened my precision and discipline.
Today, I not only ship cookies nationwide in the U.S., but I also teach through Artin School, offering courses in Spanish with English subtitles, helping bakers worldwide turn their passion into a real opportunity.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been easy. Along the way, I faced many challenges: teaching myself new skills, adapting to digital tools, and earning a place in a competitive market. During that process, I also had to take on other jobs because my business couldn’t yet support itself. That stage taught me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of moving forward even when results take time to show.
Those challenges, however, were essential for me to discover my talent for flavor innovation, social media communication, and teaching in a clear and practical way. Today, I see that difficulties helped me grow beyond the kitchen: they turned me into a content creator, a teacher, and an entrepreneur with a broader vision.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work has two complementary sides: on one hand, I’m recognized for my New York–style cookies and especially for the Dubai Cookies, which I created inspired by my Arab heritage and which have become a unique product in the market. I’ve also specialized in macarons, an elegant and technical pastry that requires precision, reflecting my commitment to excellence in every detail.
On the other hand, through my online academy Artin School, I focus on teaching pastry in a clear and practical way. What sets me apart is that I share my recipes exactly as I make them for my customers—no secrets—and I design my courses so that anyone can achieve professional results.
Of everything I’ve accomplished, what I’m most proud of is seeing my students transform their lives: many have gone from baking at home as a hobby to running their own businesses. What distinguishes me from others is the combination of authentic flavor, innovation, and accessible education, always with the vision of inspiring and empowering my community.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
To me, taking risks means having the courage to create differently. When I launched the Dubai Cookies, I wanted to honor Middle Eastern flavors through the comforting form of an American-style cookie. It was a leap of faith, but it became one of my most meaningful creations.
I believe that every well-considered risk opens the door to growth — it has helped me stand out and connect more deeply with those who love my work.
