Meghan Wolfgram shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Meghan, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Honestly, it’s life on my little farm in Florida. I live on 7.5 acres with my husband, our two dogs, Piper and Melon, and a couple of horses, one goat, and some chickens.
There’s always something that needs attention – fixing fences, cleaning pastures – but even on days when I’m tired, it doesn’t drain me. It actually does the opposite. Just walking around at sunrise with my dogs or sitting outside at the end of the day watching the horses is grounding me in a way nothing else is.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Meghan Wolfgram, founder and CEO of SwiftPaws. We build enrichment products that help pets live happier, healthier lives by engaging their natural instincts.
SwiftPaws started over a decade ago with one simple goal: create a way for pets to enjoy the thrill of the chase in their own backyard. What began as a personal project has grown into a line of products used not only by pet parents at home but also by professional trainers, doggy daycares, rescues, and even zoos around the world.
Our kits have been featured on Shark Tank, trusted at major events like ESPN’s Fastest Dogs, and used by organizations like the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. But what matters most to me is seeing a pet light up with joy when they connect with something that feels natural and exciting to them.
Right now, we’re working on making enrichment tools more accessible and helping pet parents understand that play isn’t a luxury, it’s a vital part of an animal’s well-being. If I can help even one more pet get the physical and mental enrichment they crave, I know we’re on the right path.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
Hands down: my parents. They are some of the hardest working people I’ve ever known, and they showed me early on what it means to put your heart into what you do and that shapes everything I do at SwiftPaws – and life in general.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell her it’s okay to slow down sometimes. As a founder and CEO, I wear so many hats, product development, customer support, running a team, traveling for events, pitching on Shark Tank, and still making time for my dogs and farm. It’s easy to get caught up in the “do more, move faster” mindset, but life and work aren’t just about crossing things off a list, they’re about noticing and enjoying the moments along the way.
Part of learning to slow down comes with growing up and gaining perspective. You don’t stress out as quickly, and you start to see that patience and reflection are just as important as hard work. Every lesson, every challenge, helps shape the way you approach your work, your relationships, and your own well-being, and that’s something I wish I could have told my younger self.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely, 100% that’s me. Even on Shark Tank, when I proudly said, “I’m a total dog mom,” that was completely real. Maybe just a bit louder (I was a little nervous!) in front of the camera.
Outside of SwiftPaws, my world is full of animals, dogs, horses, chickens, and the little messy, wonderful moments that come with them. I run community events with my team, do agility with my dog Melon, and spend most of my free time out on the farm. My whole life has revolved around animals since I was little, and it still does today. Whatever people see online or in interviews? That’s really me, just sometimes with better lighting.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I’m doing what I’ve always done with SwiftPaws. Build it organically and community-driven. Life for me isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about listening. Listening to my customers, to my community, to my pets, and to myself and my heart. It might take longer, but I believe putting in the hard work, investing the time, effort, energy, and money into doing things the best way I know how will pay off in the end. For me, it’s about making enrichment more accessible to pets and the people who love them, and the reward is hearing how SwiftPaws has made a difference in their relationships.
