Today we’d like to introduce you to Alie Miller
Hi Alie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started taking pictures with my phone camera around the age of 14. I won third place in a local photography contest, and then my parents gifted me my first DSLR. In highschool I was my yearbook photographer for a couple of years, and then I went on a trip with National Geographic Student Expeditions to Belize for photography. In recent times, I love taking photos of nature, weddings, themed shots, and concerts. I am hoping one day I can be a photographer as my full time profession.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been easy because, as a new photographer, I had to wait for someone to choose me as their photographer. Sometimes, I’ll be busy, but I can go for a few months without a gig, and I hope that can change.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a photographer and proud of the relationships I built on my path to where I am today. What stands me apart from others is that Alie Miller Photography is a queer Asian women-owned photography business located in the state of Florida.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love to eat and dance; whenever I work, I love dancing, allowing me to stand apart from others. I also love to be silly and make people laugh.
