Amanda , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in the age of Photobucket and Myspace, which sparked my lifelong passion for design and photography. In high school, I was on the yearbook staff and always had a camera in hand, capturing moments wherever I went.
Creativity has always been a big part of my life. I’ve drawn, made music videos with my siblings and friends, and explored various artistic outlets. In 2020, I founded Amanda Michelle Photo during a challenging period, seeking a creative outlet to reignite the joy I had felt I’d lost. This business has allowed me to blend all the things I love into one incredible “job”.
I quickly fell in love with the wedding industry and connecting with people through their stories. I realized that photography was my true calling and a way to make a meaningful impact.
Having been on the other side, searching for photographers and sometimes feeling overlooked or disappointed, I strive to ensure my clients feel truly seen and heard. My goal is to bring their visions to life and provide an experience that goes beyond just photos—creating lasting memories and friendships along the way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting Amanda Michelle Photo has been quite the journey, full of highs and lows. There were definitely times when people doubted I could make it and bumps along the road that made me question myself. But through it all, I kept my faith and stuck to the belief that this was my true calling. I really feel that God gave me a gift in photography to share with others, and that belief has kept me going. I’ve learned that if you’re passionate about something, you should absolutely go for it. It might look hard to others because they’re on different paths, but that’s okay. I love encouraging my kids and anyone else to pursue their dreams. Even if you stumble, it’s just a chance to learn and try again.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve touched on this a bit, but to dive deeper: I specialize in weddings, focusing on an editorial, documentary style. I truly love love, and through weddings, I get to celebrate with couples and give them timeless photos they can cherish with family, kids, and future grandkids. I want them to feel those same emotions when they look back at their photos.
To me, photography is more than just a job—it’s a passion. My kids will tell you that I’m always carrying a camera, always eager to capture special moments. What sets me apart from other photographers is the dedication I bring to each session. It’s incredibly rewarding to provide a full experience, not just show up, do the job, and disappear. Many of my clients return to me time and time again, and it’s so special to see them grow and continue to be a part of their lives.

I absolutely adore my city for its amazing diversity. It’s such a thrill to meet people from all sorts of backgrounds, each with their own unique ways of thinking and living. Every new connection is a chance to learn something new and broaden my own horizons. Being part of this vibrant community is incredibly rewarding. I love the way we all come together, celebrating different cultures and perspectives. It’s this mix of experiences that makes my city feel so special and keeps me excited to be a part of it.
