Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Edwards.
Hi Anthony, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My first interest in photography came from my 7th-grade teacher. After seeing her work and hearing how she started that’s when I went and talked to my parents about buying me my first professional camera. Well, my parents decided that if I wanted this camera, I would have to purchase it on my own, because they didn’t want me to waste their money. So, after saving $500 my mom and I looked for the best deal and found my first camera on Craigslist. This was the best purchase of my life, not knowing that it was going to be an investment that affected the rest of my life. My family were the ones to give me my first gigs, and after having a shoot with my cousin and the results I knew that I wanted to be a photographer.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No having a Production Business is the same road as any other. I deal with dry periods, investing in equipment, equipment being stollen, and having to replace years of investment. Often, I have a hard time understanding why family & friends would choose another photographer over me. It was also a struggle trying to manage high school and a business but I did it!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the Proud Owner of Antho-Media Productions. We specialize in Photography, Videography, Website Design, and Graphic Design. However, we are most known for our Photography. I am proud most of my growth from where I started and where I am today. When you scroll through my portfolio you can see the different techniques I learned along the way. You can visualize what areas I grew in.
What does success mean to you?
There is no set definition of success because success can be seen in many different ways. Therefore I define success as achieving the goals you set for yourself. When we set goals for ourselves and our business, we are telling ourself that this is something that we want and when we can achieve that it means we have achieved what we wanted for our growth.
