Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariadna Gonzalez.
Hi Ariadna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a 29-year-old Venezuelan. I discovered Pole Dance in 2017 when I moved on to the Panama Republic, and immediately fell in love with this aerial sport. For the first 3 years, I practiced Pole as a hobby, and it was in 2020 that I began to teach, and make presentations and shows with my academy team in Panama. 3 years later I came to Orlando and this is where I have developed more as an instructor.
Currently, I have my own business Escape Aerial Gym, I just stared, and is growing fast, thank god my classes are full. When I dance or teach I feel like I can do whatever I want, is amazing how I can connect my body, mind, and soul on the same page and with my students. I am a better version of myself when I do pole.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
At first, I had no experience, I had no strength, much less flexibility. But I did have an instructor and pole sisters who believed in me and little by little I developed my weaknesses and turned them into strengths.
When I started to see changes and everything that my body was capable of doing I couldn’t stop training, it was worth all the effort, the sweat, and the tears, because I had finally found my place. I have learned to love myself and feel happy with my body. That’s what I want to share with the world, if you are happy with yourself everything in your life will become better.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At first, it was just a fun way to work out. The times I thought I could do something to live off this passion myself or someone else told me I was crazy and it was impossible. But when you find what you like, even if you want you can’t stop thinking about and living for it. So I started to get more involved in the world of Pole, I started training every day, I got into the gym, and in flexibility classes and I also attended all the workshops that came my way. I began to study, instruct myself, and turn my practice into my lifestyle.
Shortly after I started teaching, this marked a before and after in my career, helping others to understand their body, and their mind and to improve themselves every day is what fills me the most. The pole more than a sport is a way of teaching others to love each other, feel comfortable in their skin, and also to be healthy. What could be better than that? I teach Pole Dance and flexibility classes for all levels, online and in person. No matter the age, gender, or sex, in these disciplines the only thing you need to start is desire and a lot of love.
Currently, I have my own business Escape Aerial Gym with more than 30 students who choose to attend classes with me because due to my way of teaching, I focus a lot on the technique and the correct execution of the movements. If someone has problems with a movement or figure, I am very good at finding a way for them to achieve it.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a child, I always got involved in as many physical activities as I could, at school, university, and at all times.
But I always changed sports and never stayed in just one until I found Pole. You know, everyone has their place and it’s important to search until you find it. I think that’s what I did and I’ve never felt better since.
