Hi Armani, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, my life was drenched in the glitz and glamour of beauty pageants, so I’ve always had a knack for a little sparkle. My makeup journey began in middle school when I first experimented on myself, and by high school, I was doing makeup for my friends. Though people around me urged me to take it more seriously, I never truly considered makeup as a career. That all changed when my mom, a former makeup artist herself, hired me to do makeup for a wedding party alongside her in August 2019. That gig was the game-changer. Despite not having fully embraced makeup artistry, I nailed the job, proving that there was something innate within me that made me a natural. From that moment, I threw myself into perfecting my craft year after year. Now, I’m proud to say I’m booked solid—sometimes multiple times a week. Bridal, film, celebrity makeup—I’ve done it all, and I can’t help but feel a deep gratitude for having chosen to pursue this career.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve definitely faced my share of bumps along the way. In the early days, I struggled to master the art of modern-day makeup, and finding my own unique style as an artist was a challenge. Building a loyal clientele took time, and there were moments when it felt like the pieces just wouldn’t fall into place. But through it all, I’ve held onto two powerful beliefs: “nothing good comes easy,” and “I will not be given more than I can handle.” With every setback, I’ve only grown stronger. I know deep down that I’m made for this industry, and I prove it every single day through my passion and determination.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m proud to be known as the go-to makeup artist in my city, and I wear that title with honor. Every prom season, I’m working non-stop. Doing at least ten girls every prom night. While many might see me as a soft glam artist, I believe my true strength lies in my ability to flawlessly match complexions. But what really sets me apart is the fact that I am one-of-a-kind. There’s no one else quite like me, and even my husband can attest to that. Booking with Armani Cheré isn’t just a service—it’s an experience. I want my clients to feel that difference, to know that when they sit in my chair, they’re getting more than just a look—they’re getting all of me. I pour my heart into every client, and in return, they pour into me, making every session a true exchange of energy and creativity.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was the definition of multifaceted. My first ten years were spent shuttling back and forth between Okahumpka, FL, and Orlando, FL, a dynamic that truly shaped who I am today. Now, I know you’re probably wondering, “Where is Okahumpka, and how do you even say it?” Well, it’s a tiny, rural gem tucked away in Lake County, Florida. And yes, that should give you a pretty good idea of my roots—I was a true Southern belle. With a blend of Southern hospitality, fiery spunk, and a sweet, outspoken nature, I was always the life of the party. I immersed myself in everything—singing, dancing, drawing, modeling, and of course, dressing up. Whether it was talent shows, musicals, fashion shows, or pageants, I thrived on being in front of an audience or camera. The stage and spotlight were my home, and I loved every moment of it.
