Rising Stars: Meet Beverly Toranzo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beverly Toranzo.

Hi Beverly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After working as a Computer Network Engineer and having an Aviation background. I became the wife to an amazing man. Together now 20 plus years, we are the proud parents of two wonderful little girls.

As the owner of Trésors de Macaron.
I am a self-thought French macaron baker. The inspiration to my business came about while baking sweets with my family on a constant basis and watching one of the American Doll movies called Grace. Trésors de Macaron was created out of a love for these colorful and tasty French confectionery a passion and obsession. The greatest thing that excites me about owning Trésors de Macaron is the smiles it brings to so many faces after they take the first bite! And obviously the incredible people we meet. We have dedicated myself in providing each customer with first-class customer service with fresh handcrafted macarons. We strive in not just handing a customer a piece of cookie, but instead making it an experience for the customer, where they feel special and excited to bite into our macarons.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Smooth roads?! Ha! for sure it has not always been a smooth road. But with each difficult road I’ve encountered in my business it has given me a wealth of knowledge and has created opportunities of learning. I’ve had to learn to manage a business without a Business degree. Even though I’ve always been a technical, hands-on type of personality. I believe what has pushed me through those moments is the love I have for people. The determination to produce these little treasures. And let’s not forget passion and obsession for these little temperamental cookies that has really been my biggest ally!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

When started Trésors de Macaron from a complete obsession and passion for these delightful confection cookies called French macarons.
I failing a million times trying to bake them. I learned about being! Obsessed, being passionate and fully determined. I just could not back down and walk away from something this delicious, beautiful and incredible.
In the beginning, I was all over my town constantly just giving them away to people. I would share them as gifts with almost everyone. At the local stores and school teachers. A lot of times, if someone looked like they were having a bad day, I would return and bring them macarons. After a while, my husband, my daughters and my friends encouraged me to start my own business.
I waited a long time after I mastered them because I wanted to make sure that I had  Perfectly nailed it;  And that my product would be worthy of people paying top dollars for a dessert held at high standards.
Consequently, my heart and mind felt soured with excitement and a spirit of entrepreneurship began! With much planning and care Trésors de Macaron was born in the summer of 2018. My grand opening was at L’Occitane located at Disney Springs, Florida. I was invited to be a vendor during one of their social media gathering and new product launch event. Shortly after that event, so many doors opened for me. One of the most exciting ones, was when Williams & Sonoma asked me to come in and do a French macaron demo class and also sell our products along side them during these events. I also had the privilege to work and teach a class with Bloomingdale’s at Mall of Millennia. We do many of their VIP events and new designer merchandise releases by customizing the macarons for those types of events.
It has been such an amazing journey alongside with my mom. Who is my French macaron RN nurse LOL.  I couldn’t do this without her help and the support of my family (who would tell you, that they never get to eat any macarons, as well as my husbands many PBNJ dinner nights and baskets full of laundry).
Consequently because of their support it has made things smooth and easy for me to flourish and strive at what I do.

What matters most to you?
What I enjoy the most, is making people smile and making the moment special for them when they purchase and eat our macarons.
