Rising Stars: Meet Bishop Joe Jones, Jr. of Longwood, Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bishop Joe Jones, Jr..

Hi Bishop Joe , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2017 the Lord gave me a vision and a name which is House of Mercy & Empowerment Worship Center. Not a church, but a place that people can call home. So we staggered at first, but finally in 2022, we launched out and trusted God. God gave us favor with good people who would help us get into rooms that we most likely could not get into. But it has been and still is an amazing journey. This is only the beginning, the best is still ahead of us. I started preaching in 2006, and this is the best time of my life that I’m currently in.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, it has been difficult, but God has carried us through it. The hard part is knowing who to bring along with you. Sometimes you invest in people who are not as equally invested and sometimes you fall in love with people who do not love you the same. Ministry is not the same as business. In business you invest in products, but in ministry you invest into people, and sometimes you end up hurt, because people sometimes take advantage of your generosity. But you have to know that that God who called you to ministry will also see you through whatever obstacles come your way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been called to Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am most proud of that. Being saved by His love and being able to share that same love and the message of that love with somebody else.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If I could tell my younger self something that I have learned and if I can share with someone that’s just starting out, I would tell them to do EXACTLY what God has called you to do and do it waiver on it. Also do not let your mistakes define you. Keep good counsel around you and be true to yourself.
