Rising Stars: Meet Caribel Quinones Acosta of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caribel Quinones Acosta

Hi Caribel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Life started to look more exciting when I decided to choose myself over others, pouring just a slight more love into my mind and body changed me drastically. In 2019, I was approximately 275 lbs, my highest weight measuring 4’11. I was a walking atomic bomb, and while it might sound a little harsh, it’s the fair truth. What started out as a self-love journey turned into a whole community of others who also enjoyed watching my journey and even joined my weight loss adventure. I’ve been on this ride for 5 years now, and I’ve built a mass following and support across platforms, reaching 10m in views. Gaining so much engagement allowed me to open my options and have access to more opportunities. While it might be sponsorships contracts and even collabs.

Apart from becoming a Fitness Influencer, I am also a full-time Business manager. I am a Nail & Lash Artist and dedicate most of my time to making other women look and feel their utmost beauty I thrive working in this environment & enjoy bringing a little bit of light & joy to those who take the time to care & pamper themself

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing in life is smooth. Your obstacles and challenges can break you or make you & it is up to you to decide. Within my 5 years, I could say 2 out of the 5 felt like I was just failing, while it might have been that the scale wasn’t moving, or I felt like I wasn’t counting my macros correctly, or I was overthinking my food and having a bad relationship with food overall and with my body because while I was losing the weight I wasn’t being patient with my self which can lead to body dysmorphia, lack of motivation & no DISCIPLINE. I knew I needed to beat all the odds so i built a system within myself to keep track of my progress, to love my process to trust the process & to never forget Discipline over Motivation. Repetitive movement leads to muscle memory. Consistency leads to achievements .

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I’ll have to say I was the mischievous kid. I was always getting into some sort of trouble, but I was just a prankster and also a BIG giver I’d give my mom groceries to my friends if they didn’t have food, which my mom then would be upset because I gave all my snacks away & now I am the on upset. I remember always being very creative I came up with the coolest phrases, dances, and activities. I was told I was a trendsetter. I remember in 2012 when customized jean jackets became super popular I was probably 12-13 years old and I had a whole Fashion Business customizing my class mates jean jackets with patches and diamonds. it was a time
