Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Lucarini.
Hi Carrie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story begins where my faith in Jesus changed my life. From a failed life and a bleak future, I began to look for hope in turning my life around. I started searching for God to fulfill the void in my heart and that is exactly what He did. This changed the direction I was going and opened the doors to discovering who I really was and finding true happiness in this process. This lead me to dig and pull out the talents I always had! I found a love to tell my story and help others that were broken live a victorious life. During one of my most difficult seasons I was in, I felt impressed to write a devotional book to help and inspire others. To challenge them to go up higher and to find the truth of their purpose. I was so surprised that I would find this journey in a broken chapter of my life but with the prompting of God, I took the step in faith and wrote my first book called Beyond the Waters 100 days of devotion! I didn’t know the first thing about writing a book but I was willing to learn and be vulnerable. God put the right people in place to guide me through the process and a year later, I was walking out what I never thought I could accomplish. It became a success!
The most important part for me was the stories I would receive from readers and how the book helped change their life! There is no better reward then that. This lead me to write my 2nd book for children called Who I Am! With so many children so unsure of who they are and surrounded by fear, I wanted to create a tool that parents and children could do together before bedtime to build confidence that God created them to be unique and strong without fear! It’ even has a section that gives parents instruction on ways to interact with their kids. It closes each night with a confession to say out loud so they can hear themselves speaking life! Like I am more than a conqueror and I am not afraid! One single dad even wrote to me that his daughter was struggling with nightmares for months but after he did this book with her she no longer has them. This is the purpose that I write for. I was able to have the book translated in Spanish and sent 125 copies to Nicaragua for a school there my church sponsors. I am currently working on my 3rd book! With continued hopes to inspire others. I could never accomplish this without my faith which has shaped me into who I am today!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Feeling inadequate because of the lack of experience and not knowing all the ins and outs of starting a business. Feeling at times is this the right path for me to take. Learning that risks are a part of the journey and every broken piece can be made into a bridge that can help someone else grow.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a licensed minister and teacher of the Bible. I do volunteer work at my church’. My passion is to help people live a life they were created for. I have also worked in the restaurant business for over 20 years. Combining the two has given me the tools I need to perfect serving others.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
During Covid 19, my father had passed away in 2020 when everything shut down. I was given the unique opportunity because the restaurant I work for shut down to go home out of state when my father was ill for six weeks. During that time he passed and it was a season to serve my family in our biggest time of need. My second book was supposed to be launched at this time which I obviously postponed. I cherished the time with my family because making them a priority was important. When I was able to come back to Florida, I allowed my children’s book to be released and inspire others. Every obstacle has the opportunity to be used for good. I choose to see the time as a blessing instead of a tragedy. Because of the pandemic, I was able to spend a significant amount of time when my family needed it the most. I was able to speak at my father’s funeral and share the love we had with him with others. The lesson learned for me was even when things don’t go as planned trust God and He works out every detail. If it wasn’t for the pandemic, I wouldn’t have been there when my father passed and because the world shut down, I was able to go home. It didn’t stop the book it only allowed it to be released in a better time.
