Rising Stars: Meet Chrissy Nichols of Wildwood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrissy Nichols.

Hi Chrissy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have a background in Occupational Therapy as well as Massage Therapy, however the last several years I took some time off to cater to my children with my son being 5 years old and identical twin girls being 3 years old. As the 2025 new year rolled around, I decided to was time to get back into the groove of working and have an open mind of stepping out of my comfort zone and being open to the new and with that I found the opportunity of becoming a financial educator through completing my life and annuities license in April of this year. I work with a company called Wealthwave and our mission is focused on financial literacy for all ages from 8-80 years of age using awesome tools through our How Money Works platform.

Unfortunately, financial illiteracy is #1 economic crisis in America. We are not taught much on this topic in schools or from our parents in which case it’s because they were never taught correctly. As a financial educator we offer free workshops, provide books and many tools to those we educate, all of our education is nonprofit, Wealthwave is self-funded by licensed professionals who dedicate their time to giving back to the community through these educational workshops. We have several different books that we provide to each individual who request them at no cost, some examples of these books include How Money Works for Women, How Money Works for the next generati0n, we even have an eBook for How Money Works for Special Needs Families. We are also partnered with one of the largest nonprofit research and education organizations, Heartland Institute.

My drive and passion behind this is to eliminate financial illiteracy for the families I work with but what I really strive for is being an advocate for the surrounding communities and building a legacy to eliminate this crisis across the country. Having the ability to hold workshops throughout schools, libraries, military bases, large commercial companies or even prisons to provide as much information as we can to take a stand against the financial illiteracy crisis we face here in America. Starting this month, we have started a series at the Lake and Sumter libraries holding free workshops to the public and will also be holding a workshop at the Lady Lake library in February.

Also, in February I will be hosting a women’s entrepreneur event with 8+ vendors from the Lake, Sumter and Marion county areas, Katy Kretzschmar is actually my co-host. My vison behind this is to build a community and network with like-minded women who share the same values focusing on authenticity, leadership, growth, healing, living in alignment and finding purpose. All proceeds with be donated to Haven of Lake and Sumter Counties, Inc.
I am behind proud and excited for this event.

Stepping into the role of leadership as a financial educator has opened many doors for me as I follow my intuition as I guide for growth and purpose. It brings me joy to Invest my time to help humanity as much as I can.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road, it certainly takes time, dedication and patience. I think ensuring that the individuals I work with feel comfortable on such a personal topic really requires patient and understanding.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Financial Educator is my role and what I specialize in. I am most proud to provide any and all education at no cost to those I work with and whether they decided to utilize the products I work with they at least gain valuable insights from me to use in their future.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice for having a mentor I guess depends on how you look at your philosophy in life. Find someone who is like-minded but also can share different perspectives for growth in order for you to keep an open mind.
