Rising Stars: Meet Christina Bridgeman of Ormond and Daytona Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Bridgeman

Hi Christina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up, I was always known for having a camera in my possession. From small, intimate gatherings to large events, I was the one to count on for having pictures and video documentation! My dedication to taking pictures was one of the reasons I was later ridiculed as a teenager, but I turned it into motivation to become the best version of myself and educate myself with knowledge about photography.

I have always strongly believed in preserving the beauty of every day moments. I originally started photography during the summer of 2017 after coming to terms with my passion and wanting to save up money for driving lessons, being that I was never formally taught to drive. I am completely self-taught with the assistance of a few online videos and became Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop certified. Over time, I was drawn more specifically to lifestyle photography, as it gave me the chance to document real, candid moments that tell a story.

My passion grew as I worked my way up to full-time. I explored different techniques and styles; always seeking to improve and find new ways to express myself through my lens.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Just like an out-of-focus picture, the road has not always been clear. There have been numerous obstacles along the way that have challenged me and helped me grow. One of the biggest hurdles has been accepting that I cannot please everyone, and my style is not going to be for all who inquire. Another challenge has been finding fresh, creative ideas especially when dealing with routine or familiar environments. Additionally, the technical aspects of photography, such as mastering new equipment and editing software, have required continuous learning and adaptation. Balancing the artistic side with the business aspects, like marketing and client relationships, has also been a significant challenge. Despite these hurdles, each one has pushed me to improve and become more resilient – ultimately making me a better photographer.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in lifestyle photography, but I also enjoy shooting weddings from time-to-time.
What sets me apart from other photographers is my unique perspective and ability to connect with people. I focus on capturing genuine emotions and stories, rather than just staged shots. My approach is all about making my subjects feel comfortable and allowing their true selves to shine through in the photos. Plus, I love experimenting with different styles and techniques, which keeps my work fresh and exciting!

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can work with me, collaborate with me, or support me as a photographer in several ways. They can book a session for personal or professional photography needs, such as portraits, weddings, events, or lifestyle shoots. Collaboration opportunities include working on creative projects, styled shoots, or even joining forces for social media content. To support my work, they can share my portfolio with their networks, follow, tag, and engage with my social media accounts, and leave reviews or testimonials. Every bit of support helps me continue doing what I love and growing my photography business.
