Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Newbold
Hi Danielle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Miles To Go (MTG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. Founded in 2018 by then 9-year-old Miles, the initiative began with a simple but impactful mission—providing essential items to those in need. After researching the best way to help, Miles and his mother created the Miles To Go bags, each containing 15 essential items, valued at approximately $30.
Over the past seven years, MTG has grown significantly, forming partnerships with other organizations, such as The Sharing Center, where the Miles To Go Renewal Station provides haircuts to those in need. While our core focus remains on distributing MTG bags, we have expanded our impact, reaching more people and strengthening our commitment to serving the community. As of 2025, we have packed and distributed over 11,000 bags, continuing our mission of kindness, dignity, and support.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With growth comes a need for space. In 2019 we moved MTG from our founder’s home to our office, 6651 Vineland Rd suite 170. We share a space with a functional medicine clinic, Connected Movement. In this space we have our Miles To Go Tiny Shop (think the happiest little gift shop you can imagine) with 100% of our profits going to our mission. We also host volunteers and pack bags here- volunteerism is a core value and we welcome all ages!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
One way that we fund-raise is by selling our curated items in our Tiny Shop and online, www.milestogo.org
Some supporter favorites are our smile-inducing graphic tees. This creative outlet keeps a valuable balance for me personally. So many non-profit CEOs get burnt out, the ability to design t-shirts and stock the shop with happy little gifts is just the fluffy fun needed!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Our largest fundraiser of the year is our Miles To Go 5K, this year it will be September 20th 8am at Bill Frederick Park. We strive to make all of our events open to all ages and abilities and are hoping to add a Spring event for 2026.
