Today we’d like to introduce you to Dazirae Simmons. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Dazirae Simmons is an American model, public speaker, hostess, and activist for the less fortunate. Born to a teen mom and raised by her granny in her early years, she has always been an outspoken, influential force of nature and a natural-born leader. In the 7th grade, Dazirae was given a scholarship opportunity because of their high GPA, which allowed her to travel the world. She could visit Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Normandy, Brittany, and Ireland for a few summers. She made the cover of Bold Earth’s Teen Adventures magazine as well. Early in high school, Dazirae launched her first company selling various accessories and expanded her DazCeleste Enterprises brand today. Dazirae graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Communications and a minor in Entrepreneurship in May 2022. While there, she ran for Miss UCF and placed 2nd runner-up! She works full-time while taking full advantage of entrepreneurial and even non-profit activities. She launched a campaign to feed the homeless called Grads Give Back, speaks to and encourages youth, and is a brand ambassador for products such as Goli and Red By Kiss. She also hosted a Fashion Empowerment Brunch 2 years in a row. Despite many accomplishments at a young age, Dazirae gives all honor, glory, and praise to Jehovah, God, her creator.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been challenging. From working 3 jobs at times while trying to pursue my goals, things were not always easy. I lost my granny in 2017. She was one of my favorite people to walk on Earth. I still think I can pick up the phone and call her sometimes. I dealt with tough breakups, various deaths, and the trials and tribulations that resulted from COVID-19, but I still managed to stay afloat and thrive being the person I am today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
I am an American model, hostess, and activist for the less fortunate. I am proud that I worked hard enough to earn the opportunity to walk in New York Fashion Week for the first time earlier this month. This has always been a bucket list goal; I can cross it off now. I also landed an opportunity to be filmed on the Sisundra Show hosted on AFRO TV Network, which was a fantastic opportunity. Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
